ENGLISH 4 ASSIGNMENT

1.EVALUATION IN ATTAINING THE OBJECTIVES OF ENGINEERING

COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION

EDUCATE STUDENTS IN THEIR CHOICE OF ENGINEERING MAJORS: Engineering is the

branch of science and technology with the design, building, and use of engines, machines and
structure. They are a lot of different type of engineering, I would be mentioning the few common ones
such as mechanical engineering, Chemical engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering
Geotechnical Engineering, and Management Engineering etc. Every students has his or her own type
of engineering, in order for to attain the objective of the type of engineering you are into you should
be educate in the type of engineering you are aiming for. Example a student who is aiming for
Mechanical Engineering and was being educate on a different filed in engineering, such student
wouldn’t be able to attain or meetup with the objective of the type of engineering he or she want to.
EDUCATE STUDENTS ON WHAT IT MEANS TO BE IN ENGINEERING: As a student taking
engineering as course no matter what type of engineering you are taking, you need to know what it
means to be in engineering by giving out activities in all dimensions of engineering theoretical,
practical, experimental and problem solving etc. By doing this it would help the students and the
instructor in attain the objective of engineering.
PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH ESSENTIAL TOOLS FOR FURTHER STUDY IN ENGINEERING:
This is very very important when it comes to attain the objectives of engineering. As a person who is
into engineering you need to have the essential tools or be provided with essential tools needed for
furthering your studies in engineering. If you are aiming to be a civil engineering you need to have
technical drawing tools or device and you need to know how to use them like for instance if you don’t
know how to use or have basic knowledge about AutoCAD how would you be able to use it if you are
being provide with such tools. So therefor, as an engineer you should know or at least have basic
foundation on tools involving your aspect of engineering and engineering as a whole
2.EVALUATION OF GROUP MATES
I used to believe that I did not perform very well in groups. I am an observer who likes to learn alone.
I thought I learned best when I worked on my own. Even though I always knew group work had many
positive values, I was more comfortable with the lecture-based approach and resisted group work
merely because it involved change, not because it had a collaborative learning approach. However,
during this period with my group mate I’ve learnt a lot, I came to realize that I learn more effectively
when I work in groups. Working in a group was like an adventure for me; there were both exciting
and challenging times while preparing our requirement. We cooperated with each other even though
we didn’t see each by chatting in the group chat and making videos calls.
We decided to distribute the task to each and every one in my group accordingly and fairly and
everyone did their part well. We got everything done in few days and had time to study our work. I
would have taken at least 1 week to get that amount of work done by myself. It is amazing how much
can be accomplished when people work together. Working as a group was an exciting activity,we
were able to recognize each other’s strengths, and help each other with our weaknesses.
3.SHORT ESSAY ON COVID -19
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered
coronavirus. The coronavirus pandemic is the defining global health crisis of our time and the
greatest challenge we have faced since World War Two. Since its emergence in Asia late last
year, the virus has spread to every continent except Antarctica. Cases are rising daily in
Africa the Americas, and Europe. Countries are racing to slow the spread of the virus by
testing and treating patients, carrying out contact tracing, limiting travel, quarantining
citizens, and cancelling large gatherings such as sporting events, concerts, and schools.
The pandemic is moving like a wave—one that may yet crash on those least able to cope. But
COVID-19 is much more than a health crisis. By stressing every one of the countries it
touches, it has the potential to create devastating social, economic and political crises that
will leave deep scars.
Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory
illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people, and those with
underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory
disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness. The best way to prevent and
slow down transmission is be well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes
and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or
using an alcohol based rub frequently and not touching your face.
The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose
when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you also practice
respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow).
At this time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19. However, there are
many ongoing clinical trials evaluating potential treatments.
