METHODOLOGY

The method we used to gather the information is survey. Surveys is a list of questions
aimed at extracting specific data from a particular group of people. Surveys may be
conducted by phone, mail, via the internet, and sometimes face-to-face on busy street
corners or in malls.Survey is one of the method for the primary research method.
[ CITATION method1 \l 17417 ]. Surveys are used to increase knowledge in fields
such as social research and demography.Survey research is often used to assess
thoughts, opinions, and feeling. A good sample selection is key as it allows one to
generalize the findings from the sample to the population, which is the whole purpose
of survey research. The tool for survey is the questionnaire.
This survey was conducted through the phone so the respondents easy to fill the
survey. We used survey method because is free and convenient gathering the
data.Surveys can be administered to the participants through a variety of ways. The
questionnaires can simply be sent via e-mail or fax, or can be administered through
the Internet. Nowadays, the online survey method has been the most popular way of
gathering data from target participants. The advantages of the survey also easy to
interpret data that we collected because the analysis or summary of responses already
done and accuracy because online surveys usually margin of errors is reduced.
The type of sampling we use is random sampling. Random sampling  is a subset of a
statistical population in which each member of the subset has an equal probability of
being chosen. The respondents that fill the form are randomly and entirely by chance .
the advantages for this type sampling is free of classification error, and it requires
minimum advance knowledge of the respondents. Its simplicity also makes it
relatively easy to interpret data collected in this manner. This type of sampling also
meant to be an unbiased representation of a group. After we finished gather the data,
there are 52 respondents who take part in this survey and mostly age range between
18-24 year that is 94.1% or 48 respondents. In this survey, the male respondents
58.8% or 30 respondents is higher than female respondents,22 respondents that is
41.2%. Based on the year of study, the second year students is 41 respondents or
78.4% and 15.7% is first year students that is 8 respondents.
For the questionnaire part, there are 10 question that we made. There are several
sections questions such as general overview, problem, solution and personel
information. The general overview have 5 questions, 3 problem question and 2 for the
solution question. For this survey, the type of questions we use is close ended
question for all questions. It is objective question and has 3 or 4 choices. This type of
question are quick to be answered and provide quantifiable data useful for calculating
statistical data and percentages.
Furthermore,it is allow researchers to categorize respondents into group based on
the option they selected. The types of close ended question we are using two types
such as dichotomous question and multiple choice question. The dichotomous
question is the question have two possible answer that is agree or disagree and yes or
no. For the general overview, problem and solution questions it has 7 question while
for multiple choice answer has 3 questions. For the personel information questions,
two of them are multiple question such as age range and year of study while for
another one is dichotomous question for gender.
