THE UNDEAD CHESS SET ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS-

WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Scissors, Elmer's glue (or a glue stick), a ruler or other straightedge, and 32 pennies
or other small coins. A piece of cardboard or poster board (about 10 inches square) is optional.

GAME BOARD: Begin by cutting out the Left and Right sides of the board. The Right side should overlap the
blank purple panel on the Left side. Glue the Right side to the purple panel and the board is ready to use. If
you wish, you may glue the finished board onto a piece of cardboard or poster board to give it strength.

GAME PIECES: All four pages of Chess Pieces will be built in this manner. Begin by cutting out the entire
piece along the outer green lines. Fold DOWNWARD along the blue center line, and then fold UPWARD
along both purple lines. Position the piece as shown in Figure1A and glue the two middle panels (with the
characters) together. DO NOT glue the rows of half circles together! After gluing the middle sections, cut out
the individual chess pieces. The half circles should now form a base, as shown in Figure1B. Glue the base
of each piece to a penny (or other small coin). Finish all 32 pieces this way and you’re ready to do BATTLE!

CHESS BOX: Start by cutting out the Chess Box. Cut along the 4 red lines beside the blue tabs, and bend
the 4 blue tabs and the 2 blank purple tabs DOWNWARD. Then fold all four side panels DOWNWARD. Flip
the piece over and glue the four blue tabs to the backs of the adjoining side panels as shown in Figure2.
Fold the 2 purple tabs down over the blue tabs and glue in place. The box is now ready for the Liner.
Cut out the Chess Box Liner. Fold UPWARD along the 4 green lines, and fold DOWNWARD along the 4
yellow lines. Position the liner in the box as shown in Figure3. The 3 black panels should lay on the bottom
of the box, with the 4 dark purple panels vertical and the 2 light purple panels horizontal. Glue the liner in
place. To store the Chess Pieces, begin by laying a row of 8 pawns on one of the raised purple panels,
resting the bases in the center slot. Then lay a row of 8 royalty pieces directly over the pawns, this time
resting the bases in the outside slot. Do the same for both teams of playing pieces. By layering the pieces
this way, you can store all 32 pieces nicely.
The Chess Box lid will be built in the same manner as the Chess Box. Cut out the entire piece and then cut
along the 4 red lines beside the blue tabs. Bend the 4 blue tabs and the 2 blank purple tabs DOWNWARD.
Next fold all four side panels DOWNWARD. Flip the piece over and glue the four blue tabs to the backs of
the adjoining side panels as shown in Figure2. Fold the 2 purple tabs down over the blue tabs and glue in
place. The lid should now fit over the box, and all those little monsters should be safe and sound in there!

And there you have it…grab a friend and let the armies of the undead fight for supremacy.
Because supremacy’s FUN!
