Smart hand-wash assist device

(With soap, water & sanitizer dispenser and step indicator and timer)

the safety precautions a step
further for doctors and other
healthcare professionals who are
in fight against the pandemic.

The device here is a “smart hand-

wash assist device” that will be
placed over a wash basin and will
indicate the steps involved in
washing. While dispensing the
required amount of soap, water
and sanitizer in required
standards, while keeping in mind
the efficient use of water and
other resources such as soap and
sanitizer in this crucial period.

Keeping in mind, Bacteria and virus stay in faucet knobs for a long time, we are
planning to use reliable sensors to start the device. The user doesn’t have to
touch the device at all.

When the sensor is triggered the following events take place in the device. For
the ease of understanding we will split it into two parts
 1- Events related to dispenser
2- Events related to the Hand-wash Indicator

Events related to dispenser

1- Sensor detects hand
2- Waits for 2 seconds
3- Dispenses water
4- Dispenses soap
5- The user should look at the steps displayed on the indicator and follow it
and repeat it
6- Dispenses water again to wash the soap off the hand
7- Waits 15 seconds for doctor to dry hands using Disposable Towels
8- Dispenses Sanitizer

Events related to Hand-Wash Indicator

1- Sensor detects hand
2- With pre-programmed values it will wait for a specific time
3- It will start displaying a LED when that step is to be followed
4- User is supposed to continue the same task until that LED goes off
5- Then has to follow steps until the Finish LED is turned ON

Budget
This solution is easy on pockets. Considering the current scenario we carefully
picked up the components and also to utilise the same in most efficient way
possible. The proposed budget for one device is as follows
