slightly on the yarn after going through each hole. Do this about 3 times on each side until you
reach the look you want. Follow the pictures for help. There is also a youtube video I have for
extra help on this process.

Assembly

Head and Body:

1. Sew the head and body together.
When you get to the last few stitches to sew together, add some more stuffing then sew
closed.

Sweet Oddity Art 10

Nose:
1. Add a little stuffing underneath the nose. Pin the nose onto the face in between the
eyes approximately between rounds 9 and 13 of the head.
2. Sew the nose onto the head. You may need to add a little more stuffing before you
completely close the nose.
3. Cut a strand of variegated yarn and mark 2 spots on the nose with pins.
4. Embroider some nostrils with the yarn.

Sweet Oddity Art 11

Ears:
1. Pin the ears onto the back of the head one ear at a time. Approximately pin the bottom of
the ear between rounds 14 and 15 on the head. Make sure it looks positioned well on from the
front of the head.
2. Sew the ears only on the bottom of the ears so that the ear protrudes some from the head.

Sweet Oddity Art 12

Sweet Oddity Art 13
Legs:
1. Pin the legs onto the side of the body approximately between rounds 6 and 7 of the
body.
2. Sew them onto the body.
Tip! Closing the seam by crocheting over the opening will make sewing it to the body
easier. Also the legs will lay nicely flat, instead of sticking out.

Sweet Oddity Art 14

Wings and Embellishments:
1. Pin the wings onto the back of the body approximately between rounds 9 and 11.
2. Sew the wings on to the body.
3. Embroider some eyebrows onto the head with black thread.

Working on the opposite side of the chain:
This is an example picture!
Start by creating your foundation chain. The amount of chains will be given in your pattern.
Work the stitches given across the chain.
Now, turn your work upside down into the remaining back loops of the chain stitches.
Work the next stitches into the back chains across.
When you are finished, the last stitch you made will be next to your first stitch.

*The number of stitches you make on one side of the chain should be the same amount on the
opposite side of the chain. Depending on what you are making you may join the end of your
round to the beginning with a slip stitch, or you may continue crocheting in a spiral fashion. If
you are to join this will be indicated in the pattern you are making.*

Helpful Tips:
Exact Colors and Brand of Yarn Used:
1. Variegated yarn: I love this yarn fruit salad
2. Pink: Red Heart Perfect Pink
3. Blue: Red Heart Turqua
4. Purple: Red Heart Amethyst

You can use different eye and nose sizes. You might have to adjust the placements if you
change the sizes.

You can use different hook sizes and weights of yarn. It will just change the size of your bat and
you might need to adjust eye and nose placement.

How you stuff matters! The type of stuffing you use, how you stuff, all this matters on how your
bat turns out. I prefer Polyfil stuffing but you can use other types.
