In “Rooftop Gardens Are Turning the Urban Shopping Scene Green” (New York
Times, Oct. 25, 2018), Doreen Carvajal shows that there is a transformation of
city farming into a exclusive shopping attraction by rooftop gardens. A typical
example is given by the author is Galeries Lafayette. According to Damien
Pelle, this is a new model that brings consumers interesting experiences by
visiting an attractive garden. In addition, Mr. Barbot said that rooftop garden
was the best place to meet his demands about specifications because of its
benefits in terms of health, environment and future generations.
In my opinion, rooftop gardens bring many benefits not only for environment
but also human beings. Therefore, we should develop this type of model widely
and extensively.
