REVIEW FILM THE ORPHAN

Orphan is a 2009 American-Canadian-German-French psychological horror film directed

by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by David Leslie Johnson from a story by Alex Mace. The film
stars Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard, Isabelle Fuhrman, C. C. H. Pounder and Jimmy Bennett.
The plot centers on a couple who, after the death of their unborn child, adopt a mysterious 9-
year-old girl.

Kate Coleman has had a very frustrating miscarriage and alcohol addiction. In hospitals.
He has since experienced depression and alcoholism. Her husband, Jack Coleman, was always
accompanying him and took the initiative to adopt a child even though he had both a child
named Daniel and Max who was deaf. The two couples eventually adopted Esthe. A clever 9-
year-old boy painted. When he came home he was pleased but Daniel did not like him because
Esther always old dressed and had terrible eyes. After Esther came in their home. The happiness
of the family seemed to be gone and problems always arise. Even Esther injured her classmate
and made her bone fractures.

Esther is frustrated when the sister of Esther in her orphanage called her. He said Esther had an
oddity because every accident Esther had always been there and the nurse asked Esther to be
returned to the orphanage. Esther knows if the nurse will take her to the orphanage and Esther
kills her in a hammerhead with the help of Max because Max is forced or she will be killed. But
Daniel accidentally knew when Esther hid it in the tree house. Esther threatened Daniel, a few
days later Esther deliberately cut a white rose that was planted by her son Jessika who died at a
miscarriage first. Kate is furious with Esther but her husband instead defends Esther.

Kate is then looking for what Esther actually is. Be released when Esther is again doing her
actions by burning the tree house so that Daniel is burned but Max manages to save her. And
Daniel succeeded in the ICU hospital. Even Esther also attempts to kill Daniel at the hospital by
equiping her with a pillow but the doctor can save Daniel. Big-tempered Kate slapped Esther, but
the medical personnel immediately took her to peace.

At home Esther seduces Jack to sleep with her. But Jack rejected it. The angry Esther eventually
kills Jack by laying the knife on her chest. At that moment Kate gets a phone and discovers the
fact that Esther is named Leena, a mature female aged 33 years and a disease that makes her
body stop growing like a child. Leena is a psychopathic and soul killer. Kate returns home and
discovers that the dead Jack is killed. Esther carries a pistol ready to kill Kate at any time. Fast
Quick Kate searches for the existing Max at home and manages to take it. They fought and
managed to make Esther faint but Esther was immediately conscious and grappling over the ice-
coated lake. The ice fractions arrived crack and they remained fighting.

The story ends when Kate manages to kick Esther until she falls into ice water and dies
there.

The Reason :

The reason for researching this movie is because it is different from other criminal horror films.
"The Orphan" has a rational reason for the incidence of killings in the film's story. Surely the
killer is not a super strong man, or a crazy man with big muscles but his killer is a 9 year old
child. And The Orphan besides being entertaining, this film provides psychological knowledge
about someone having a personality disorder.
