Pre-work: My Life Journey and Vision Board

Instructions:

1. In a short sized colored paper, illustrate a road map with 4 stops starting from your childhood days up to
the present, plus your plans in the future.
o 1st stop – from pre-school to Elementary years
o 2nd stop – Junior and Senior High School years
o 3rd stop – short-medium term goals / plans to achieve in the next 5 years
o 4th stop – long term goals / plans to achieve in 6 to 10 years

2. Life Journey: 1st and 2nd stops

o Identify a significant moment and an important person (not necessarily be in school) who made a
major contribution that made those periods of your lives memorable.
o Draw symbols pertaining to your thoughts. You may put labels or captions to expound. Be creative
in doing your Life Journey.
o As you do your output, savor each moment. Reflect on how each moment and person transformed
you. Aside from the illustration, prepare a brief explanation of your output and be ready to share to
the participants.

3. Vision Board: 3rd and 4th stops

o Ask yourselves, what are your dreams and aspirations in life? What do you want to be or who
would you like to become?. Create your "big picture" of what you want to do with your life.
o Then cut out pictures (or you may also draw) that accurately depict your long-term and short-term
goals. Use your artistic and creative skills to make a visually appealing Vision Board.
o To give a balanced coverage of all important areas in your life, you may want to consider setting
goals in some of the following categories:

Short-medium Term Goals

 Education – Is there any knowledge you want to acquire in particular? What course do you
want to pursue? Do you dream of studying abroad? (i.e. become an Engineer, pursue a Masters
degree)
 Artistic – Do you want to achieve any artistic goals? (i.e. learn digital art, enrol in art/dance
class, etc.)
 Physical – Are there any athletic program/goals that you want to achieve? (i.e. participate in
triathlon, enrol in fitness program, etc.)
 Pleasure – How do you want to enjoy yourself? Where do you want to go? (i.e. travel to
Palawan, own a laptop, camera, latest cellphone, etc.)

Long Term Goals

 Career – What level do you want to reach in your career (i.e. be a Manager), or what do you
want to achieve (i.e. own a business)?
 Financial – How much do you want to earn, by what stage? How is this related to your career
goals?
 Family – Do you want to have your own family? At what age do you want to settle down? How
many children do you want to have? How are you going to be a good parent? How do you want
to be seen by your spouse and her family?
 Education – Is there any knowledge you want to acquire further? (i.e. purse doctoral degree in
Germany)
 Pleasure – How do you want to enjoy yourself? Where do you want to go? (i.e. own your dream
house, drive your own car, travel to Europe, etc.)
 Public Service – Do you want to make the world a better place? If so, how? What social causes
you would like to support and participate? (i.e. do outreach programs, volunteer in clean-up
drive, provide scholarships, set-up your own Foundation
