6F Why don’t you come?
Aims  To review expressions from Lesson F and engage
students in a role-play situation
Time  15 minutes
Materials  1 handout for each student
• Give each student a copy of the handout and get them to
complete task A. In the first dialogue, point out the use of
the suffix -ish (eightish) to mean around.

• Working in pairs, students read the dialogues aloud.
• Students now look at the diary page in task B and choose
the activities they would prefer to do the following week.
Tell them also to add a time for each activity, e.g. Bike ride
/ Library 11 a.m.
• Tell students to mingle to make further arrangements for
the following week. They should talk to a partner, find a
time they are both free and make new plans together.
• Once they have decided, they should write the details in
their diary, before swapping partners and repeating the
process. They could do this a further two or three times.
