Orthogonal Signal Sets

1. Show that the signal set shown in Fig 1 is an orthogonal signal set.

2. Show that the signal set consisting of signals


s1(t) = 2 cos 2000πt 0 ≤ t ≤ T = 0.01s
and
s2(t) = 2 cos 2050πt 0 ≤ t ≤ T = 0.01s
is an orthogonal set.

3. (a) Show that the signal set consisting of signals


s1(t) = 2 cos 2000πt and s2(t) = 2 cos 2010πt
is not an orthogonal set.
(b) Calculate the correlation coefficient between signals s1(t) and
s2(t).
