trekking in the Oslomarka and fine dining later the same evening. Oslo is Much, the Opera,
stunning parks, unique cocktail bars and restaurants, and a vibrant urban scene. ``
It is important to know that Norwegian currency is Norwegian crown (NOK), and at this
moment 31.3.2020, according to European Central Bank (2020) for 1 EUR you get 11.51

and exploring city. According to Time and Date (2020) during planned dates in Oslo daylight
is going to be almost 19 hours long, with sunrise around 4 AM and sunsets around 11 PM.
Train leaves from airport almost every hour (rometorio.com, 2020) and this is the cheapest
way to reach city center, one way for 9€ the most.

Upon arrival at the hostel around 3 PM and the entire check-in procedures, there is a lot of
time for sightseeing and meal breaks. Before adventure starts we suggest buying Oslo Pass
ticket and money exchange. Best deal is to by three-day Oslo pass ticket (VisitOslo, 2020b)
which costs 820 NOK = 85€ and provides free entrance to over thirty museums, free public
transportation, free city tours, as well as discounts for various tourist attractions, boats and
similar services. Ownership of ISIC card will give you 20% off on the price of 820 NOK.
To the left of the National Theater, along the coast, is the City Hall, for which entry is free
with Oslo Pass. Usually, such buildings in Scandinavia and other Western European countries
are beautiful and richly decorated, while the one in Oslo is completely different. It was made
of red brick, in an architectural style known as functionalism. The exterior is decorated with
motives of Norse mythology, history and culture, while statues around the building represent
the Norwegian workforce. Every December 10th, the Nobel Peace Prize is held here.
When you exit City Hall and head to the opposite side, facing the water, you will
immediately see a Nobel Fredssenter - Nobel Peace Prize Center right. Along the port to the
left, you will reach the hill that houses Akershus, or Akershus festning, as it is said in
Norwegian. The view from the fortress to Oslo, Oslofjord and the smaller islands that
surround it, should not be missed.
This whole walk, with a tour of the City Hall and the aforementioned museums, takes up to 6
or 7 PM. It's time for a short break for a meal.
We suggest the local Cafe Skansen, located from the fort at about 500m. Here you can eat
some of the national or local dishes in the price range from 11 € to 27 € (Tripadvisor, 2020).
However, if this is an expensive, cheaper version of the dish you can find it in one of the
supermarkets.
After the meal, walk could be continued along the side streets around the center and many
more statues and sculptures.
After breakfast, adventure can continue adventure with the vagabund you met at the hostels
´reception last night. The hostel is relatively close to the city center, so taking Oslo Pass from
the Central Station and tram number 12 arrives directly at next destination (lifeinnorway,
2019).
Tram number 12 stands in front of Frogner Park with over two hundred sculptures, part of the
famous Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland. In addition to the figures, the park also houses
the Vigeland Museum, so with Oslo pass, for free it is possible to visit it.
1PM – Vigeland Museum
It's time to head to the Opera House from where the sunset is the most beautiful and where
the most beautiful photos are taken. The Opera House was built in 2008 in Bjørvika, right by
the water. What you will read first in the browser about this building is - Please walk on the
roof. The building is so designed that you can walk on its white marble roof and experience a
unique experience.
And when you get to the point that will be the best for you at sunset, behind the Opera
building you will see a neighborhood known as Barcode. These are modern buildings that are
different from each other and resemble the pixels that bear their name.
Early in the morning, the third day begins. Direction is again the City Hall, because there is
possible will catch a boat in the port, which will takes tourists through Oslofjord and islands.
The stop is to the right of City Hall, as soon as passed by Nobels Fredssenter, it will appear
boards where information about the exact departure location and timetable can be found. Boat
number B10 goes to this tour. With the Oslo pass card, this trip is free, with a hold time of
about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
12 AM – Toyen
After boat tour, metro will drive to Tøyen Station near the Munk Museum. Along the way,
visit the murals, which are very popular and interesting in Oslo, and here are just about every
building in the entire neighborhood.
2 PM – Munk Museum
After the murals, Munk Museum is perfect decision. It is a very small museum with a small
exhibit of Munk's works which is briefly visited. Admission is free with the Oslo Pass.
Immediately across from the museum is the Botanical Garden walk can be continued at the
Grünerløkka settlement, located on the east side of the Akerselva River, which, due to the
large number of cafes, restaurants, design and second hand shops, is considered to be the
hipster area.
Continue along the river to the Ankerbrua Bridge or Fairy tail bridge with statues of
Norwegian fairy tales.
6 PM – National Gallery (Nasjonalgalleriet)
The last thing to do in Oslo is a visit to the National Gallery - Nasjonalgalleriet. The museum
is fantastic. Here is possible to see seeing Munk's most famous work "Scream", followed with
famous works of Picasso, Dega, Krog, Modiliani and many other Norwegian and other
painters.
