BENEFICIARY CHANGE TO THE 2020 PINK RIBBON CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

The goal of our Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament has always been to provide medical
equipment to the Women’s Center for early detection of cancer and wigs to the
Cancer Resource Center. This year, however, we would like to provide help to the
less fortunate in our community by giving to our local Olive Branch Senior Center.
Due to the Corona Virus outbreak, there has been a serious drain on the facilities
offering food and assistance to our community. Since 1988 the Olive Branch
Senior Center has offered Sun City residents hot meals, home delivered meals,
and 25 other services to help participants remain healthy, active and
independent. (Please refer to the Banner Olive Branch Senior Center’s home page
for a list of their services.) The quality of life for our seniors is extremely
important in this unprecedented time in our community.

Hopefully this change in the beneficiary of our Charity Golf Tournament will not
deter players from entering. The format remains the same, the food remains the
same, and the venue (Fairway Rec Center) remains the same. As does the start
time and the golf course, North on October 13th. The only exception will be the
shortage of raffle items. It would be insensitive to ask our local merchants to
donate when they are having a difficult time maintaining a lucrative business. We
will still have some items to raffle and our 50/50 raffle. If anyone would still like to
play in the tournament, entry forms are at the golf courses and online through
your home course web site. You can also call Dottie Honsberger, 623-972-8042, or
e-mail stevendot@cox.net.

If anyone would like to donate, through our tournament, to the Olive Branch
Senior Center in memory of a loved one or just to help our charity this year, you
can contact Connie Brueshaber, 623-999-2464, or e-mail, cb4golf@hotmail.com.
