The Warning Signals by Adewole Damilola Sola
The Warning Signals by Adewole Damilola Sola
According to the “Merriam-Webster Dictionary”, signals are events or acts which show that something exists or
gives information about something.
Warning signals are instinctive hints that help decipher your partner’s recent but rather abrupt behavior,
they help you to know if you’re both still on the same page or otherwise.A few red-flags are enumerated
below.
1. When your partner begins to complain about things he/she never complainedabout sinceyou hadbeen
together.
2. Once your partner begins tocompare you with someone else derogatorily
4. When your partner suddenly stops bothering about yourlooks, dressing or living.
5. When your partner stops giving compliments on your beauty, looks or wares. A loving partner should
always give compliments. If not always, at least once a while.
7. When he/she begins to show attributes of a parasite. A parasite lives on its host, benefits from it at its
detriment.
8. When your partner is no longer interested in/or shows support towards what you do.
9. When your partner stops giving you time/attention. Sometimes the longetivity of any relationship
depends on the time they invest.
12. When he/she never bothers to return your calls until maybe after some days.
13. When he/she no longer asks you questions like “DID YOU PRAY FOR ME?”
14. When your partner no longer tells you words like “I PRAYED FOR YOU”
16. When your partner begins to utter words like “DO AS YOU WISH”, “IT IS YOUR CHOICE”,
“HOWEVERYOU WANT IT”,“OK”, “ALRIGHT……..”
17. When conflicts and arguments keep popping up .Relationships that are defined by conflicts, fights,
blames and lack of forgiveness undoubtedly spell disasters. Arguments are like the finger-trap carnival
toys, the more each side is pulled in an argument, the more both sides get stuck in the trap.
18. When your partner doesn’t support your growth; physically, spiritually, emotionally, financially e.t.c
20. When your partner constantly bullies you into submission, e.g. guilt-tripping.
21. When core values become different or do not aim at the same.
24. When your partner no longer derives joy being around you.
25. When your partner blames you for every little thing.
27. Lack of trust, is one of the major red-flags to look out for in relationships.
Love isn’t always a bed of roses as seen by so many young adults today. Even the best of unions in this
day had at some point weathered some horrific storms yet have stood the test of time by applying Godly
wisdom. However, once you begin to see some of these warning signals and you’re not comfortable with
them, KINDLY GO DOWN ON YOUR KNEES ASKING GOD FOR DIRECTIONS! Remember, IT’S
NOT OVER UNTIL YOU WIN.
