This is a more recent memory I have with my cousin, Lea. We

“harmonize” to our favorite songs so horribly out of key, just to get a
kick out of my brother and dad. I wish all I ever have to do is sing
with my mom all day and be worry free just like the lyrics say, but of
course life is not that easy.

more about what that song and memory means to me today when I

I do not have one specific memory for this song, but it reminds me
of all of the crazy, fun adventures I have had with my best
friends. I think I am very fortunate to have found the friends that
I have, and I am so happy we have made those memories
together. We have all agreed that this song is the one to be
played when we are all in the car together. Whether it is the
beach, driving around on someone’s car at night, dancing in our
living rooms, the beach, or a party, we can listen to this song.
Forever Young by Jay-Z
I was fortunate enough to take a trip around Europe and a
lot of my friends went too. There was a night where they let
us go out to one of the clubs where the other tourist groups
would go, so there were a lot of teenagers there. we met
people from all over the place and had a really great night.
We were supposed to go back to the hotel earlier, but our
chaperones ended up letting us stay out pretty late. The
club was in the middle of Florence, so once we left, we
walked around the quiet city around the Duomo. This song
reminds me of that summer and being able to see the world.
I think this memory is really sticking with me now because
we are in quarantine.

Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
This goes back to homecoming night this year. The DJ played
this song and it seemed like all together it was the 21st night of Are you gonna drop the bomb or not?
September, just like in the song. I did not go to homecoming my
sophomore year and I kind of regretted it, but hoco 2019 was a Let us die young or let us live forever
really fun night. All of my friends were there, and we had a We don't have the power, but we never say never
really great night. I think that night we all bonded with people
that we usually don’t talk to in our class and in the other classes
at Mater Dei.
