On Friday at 9:00 am
Marketing manager walking in the isle to the office of the owner
Marketing Manager: *Knock knock* May I come in?
Owner: Sure. Go ahead
Marketing Manager: Good day Mr. / Ms. ____________ (owner).
Owner: Welcome Mr. / Ms. _______ (Marketing manager). Please be seated. How are
you?
Marketing Manager: I’m doing well, thanks for asking. How about yourself?
Owner: I’m great!
Marketing Manager: This is for the details about our meeting (iaabot yung folder white
with documents) and file about our new product (iaabot yung USB)
Owner: Thank you.
Marketing Manager: Okay, shall we start the meeting?
Owner: Okay let’s start.
Marketing Manager: Our main purpose is to decide the date for launching our new
product, _______ (Phone). After that we’re got to decide the recommend retail price for
our new product and talk about our marketing plans. Okay?
Owner: Okay.
Marketing Manager: What do you think about our plans for this product launch?
Owner: Its look to me like you have a lot planned before your deadline. I would suggest
you push your deadline back so you have time to run a successful advertising
campaign.
Marketing Manager: I respectfully disagree with you there. The priority is to launch
before the holidays, so we do not want to move this deadline.
Owner: I would suggest you discuss this further with the advertising team.
Marketing Manager: Okay ma’am/sir. So which do you prefer? This coming June or
September?
Owner: Well, I’m not sure about June, really. I think it’s too early in fact, far too early.
We need more time to plan for our marketing. You know, a lot of people, a potential
buyers, will be away on holiday in June. It’s not the best time to have a launch. We need
to start with a real bang.
Marketing Manager: I think so. June’s too early. So September’s the best time for
launching. We can promote the smartphone strongly, then with a multimedia campaign.
The last three months of the year have always been the peak period for the selling new
electronic products. That’s when we need to put our new product (phone) in the markets
and that’s help us to build and develop our new market.
Owner: Okay, that’s spectacular.
Marketing Manager: Okay, the launch is in September. Is that correct?
Owner: Yeah. That’s great. What about the recommend retail price for our new product
(phone)? I would love to hear any suggestions or feedback you have.
Marketing Manager: I know we’ve set a price, but we should think again. I think it
should be P 14, 990.
Owner: Oh, what is your reason?
Marketing Manager: Well, simply, our main competitor brought out a smartphone
recently. It retails at just over P 16, 990. If we sell at P 14, 990, we’ll be undercutting
them by 20%. So we will have a big price advantage at the start of our launch.
Owner: Oh, that’s good idea. We need to sharp on pricing. Now, what sales outlets do
you think we should target?
Marketing Manager: No problem there. We could start with the specialist mobile-
phone stores and big department stores. After that, we could look at other distribution
channels. You know! Stations, airport – that sort of thing.
Owner: Right! Sounds good to me.
Marketing Manager: Okay, great.
Owner: it’s been great chatting with you Mr. / Ms. _______ (Marketing manager). Well,
I’m happy to hear that everything is going well. I’ll talk to you soon. Bye
Marketing Manager: Thank you so much for your time Mr. / Ms. ____________
(owner). Have a nice day. Bye
