Introduction: Hello my name is Dinu Elena ,today me and my colegue Alejandro Fabrega we

are going to talk a little about one of the most important benefits that algaes brings in our life.(you
can also speak here)

So what’s the deal here?yes...is a creme!but not an ususal creme.it’s a creme with extract of algaes
and it’s gorgeaus !!! you should try it ...it’s quite expensive but it is worth it!

So as we know algaes interact in internal use but also in external use. We are going to present the
benefits of external use ...more exactly in cosmetic products.

The cosmetic algaes can be found in the extract form or in different cremes ,serum forms.(many
companies prefers to add beside its natural compsition some pure water or another natural products
like argile)

Where did all this begin?


Greeks and Romans used them as medicinal remedies and in cosmetic.

Cleopatra founded modern cosmetology searching extensively for beauty tricks that work. She
bequeathed the recipe lipstick :red clay, iron oxide, henna, seaweed, iodine and bromine.

The Tatacha book ,the oldest japanase beauty book reveals the benefits of Okinawa Red Algae also
called etaphycus gelatinum. It is found in the thranquill lagoon  in Yaeyama,  is incorporated into
rituals from washing hair to nourishing the body. and is called “treasure from the god of the sea”
by the island’s residents.also , is presented as a temple offering during the traditional festivals of
the Yaeyama district.

French made masks for the skin, they used spirulina powder composition and lithothme.

Italian dermatologists have discovered an active ingredient from a type of algae that can successfully
treat acne.

 algal soaps,

The most commonly used algae in cosmetics

Brown seaweed:
Laminaria Digitata Algae are rich in minerals (potassium, sodium and calcium),
vitamin C and E have antioxidant and detoxifier, keeps the skin brightness and sustain
cellular exchanges. It prevents excessive drying of the skin and has a moisturizing
effect.

Fucus Vesiculosus algae are rich in iodine, minerals and vitamins, with purifying and
anti-bacterial properties. They are a very good detoxifying, strengthens capillaries
fragile, reduce swelling.A proper example is the cleansing water with this type of
algaes.

Red seaweed:
Chondrus Crispus are rich in beta-carotene and protein; plays an important role in
caring for tired skin. Make the skin softer and smoother.

Seaweed blue:The most important is Spirulina, a micro-algae rich in pro-


vitamin A (beta-carotene). Blue algae are also rich in iron, vitamin B and protein.
Therefore, increasing suppleness and firmness, it restructures and soothes.

Green seaweed:
Ulva lactuca. Contains vitamins A and C, magnesium and phosphorus. It has anti-
inflammatory, moisturizing and relaxing properties.

Green –blue seaweed:


Chlorella vulgaris. It is used as a skin nutrient because of its high concentration in
proteins, and vitamins A, B, C and E.
