Introduction and Background of The Study
The following cases study focuses on the Business Rationale for Cogent Communication,
Intel and other IT firm for MIS. The Case study hinges around how these corporate use better
intelligent MIS system for the process of merging other corporate. The main focus of the study is
to highlight the challenges these corporates face during their pre-Merging and Post-Merging
process, and how they manage to deal with it. The focuses of the case studies also highlights the
importance of virtualization, documentation and logistics process of data transfer and
understanding security information system and reliability of the data management.(Linda Banks,)
Ronald Tober who is the director of management information System (MIS) for the
merged company Outokumpo American Brass Inc., of Buffalo, NY, said, about the importance
of MIS in merging corporates, during his interview, that
“We did a lot checking, and the everybody held their breath,”(The University of
California, 2011)
As Venkatraman clearly describes that the issue of the need of Information System is due
to, although we have well developed IT security systems, emerged from purely traditional
orientation of supporting administration to a complete or more of a strategic orientation rule for
organization. But according to him we still lack those explicit fundamental frameworks which
helps us to understand the challenges of tomorrow’s world. (A. Ellis and Pirko, 1994)
The merging of corporate units or entire companies in running days has increased the
demand of MIS and (M&A) decision making. Because of the challenging being faced today for
the corporate regarding the data management in IS and IT for post and pre safety and security of
data and to enlarge the flow of their customer base service, to improve the flow of economy
scale. This increased demand of corporate merging these days also has caused a lot of hesitation
of acceptance the corporate and frustrations among MIS workers and members during the
process of coping the corporate units in merging. The reason for this frustration is the lack of
proper data management when attempting to merge the Information System of potentially
disparate orgs. (“viewcontent.pdf,” 2006.)
The following case study will examine the importance of data protection and required
access control (M&A) when multiple corporate merge. The focus of the case study will also be
on the Infrastructure of It and IS system of Cogent Communications along with Intel and other It
corporates for during their Pre-merging and Post-Merging Process, and data gathering during this
course. Documentation, virtualization and Logistics is important part of data centers and how its
helps create standard execution environment and scaling?
A Business corporate has set its Motives and Objectives to achieve. Therefore these
corporates are and should be set in a way to achieve these motives and goals in a most effective
way using its capital, services, products and resources. The use of IT and IS systems units in
corporate ensures the flow of progress for achieving these goals without the interruption of
merging corporates if required. All three processes including Documentation, Virtualization and
logistics play vital rule in the process of merging when Data is ready.
