FINAL PROJECT
THE SPEEDCUBER
ALUMNOS:
- 2019 -
Introduction: Good evening teacher and classmates, today we are going to display our project
about an interview.
A: Hello, can I make you an interview about the Speedcubing?
J: My name is Jhon.
J: I started with the speedcubing in 2014. My friend knew how to solve the Rubik’s cube and
that was something interesting and amazing for me because I never could solve the cube so I
watched videos on Youtube and learned.
J: Well, my first competition was in 2015. It was named New Open Average 2015 in Mega Plaza
and I came from a little city in Chanchamayo to here.
J: My first official average was 25 seconds because I had little time practicing.
J: Yes, I do. I started to collect cubes because there are many different kind of cubes, not only
simple cubes. You can have a Pyramid, an sphere or maybe strange forms to solve.
A: That’s interesting and, how many cubes do you have in your collection?
J: Well I have 21 or 22 cubes maybe, I’m not really sure because I don’t have them with me
now.
A: Cool… I remember I used to have one when I was a child, how often do you practice?
J: I’m always practicing in despite that I don’t use to have too much free time but It’s easy to
carry a cube and be playing and solving it.
A: I want to learn how do you solve a cube, so can you tell me?
J: Well there are hundred methods to solve a cube, and these methods have steps and
algorithms that we can use in order to follow the method to simplify the moves and
permutation of pieces.
A: I see… and what is the method you use and the steps it has?
J: I use the Fridrich method and the steps it has… well first you have to do a cross… then you do
the F2L…and finally the PLL.
J: You have to look for the edges that you will use for your cross.
A: Uhm I see.
J: Then you have to do the F2L, the F2L means the first two layers and this step is when you
solve the corner and the edge at the same time.
J: Yes, the last step is the PLL, which means Permutation of the last layer. In this step you have
to permute the last pieces by using algorithms too and so… you’re done.
A: Woah, you do it really fast, hope someday you can teach me slower.
J: Thanks to you.
J: See you.
Closing: Thanks for paying attention. Hope you liked our project.
