Mission of Equity and Diversity Team: “The mission of the MHES Equity
and Diversity Team is to actively include and value all students and to meet
their unique learning needs while developing their understanding and
respect of differences, therefore preparing them to live in an inclusive, global
community and world.”

Celebrating Diversity and Monthly Recognitions

 Calendar of celebrations and monthly recognitions
 Ideas for events and activities to recognize diversity:
• Contributions made by cultural groups; women, individuals with
Autism, learning disabilities
• Plan and hold schoolwide cultural sharing and celebrations
(Seminole and Miccosukee Tribes, African American, and Hispanic)

Classroom and Media Center Resources – Maria Copeland

 Tammy researched multicultural inclusive curriculum materials-discuss
thoughts on her findings, feasibility, and sustainability of resources .
 The literacy team along with Mrs. Langdale have agreed that the
media center will focus on purchasing reading books that are culturally
and linguistically inclusive. She is working on finalizing Title I financial
contribution. We will need to find a way to raise money after that.
