Cross Stitch
All cross-stitches are done with 2 ply (strands), and all backstitch is done in 1
ply, unless stated otherwise.
Items required for this project:
14-count Aida cloth
(Preferrably 5cm/2 inch wide banding)
Embroidery needles
DMC Standard embroidery threads (9 colours – see colour key below)
DMC Metallic/Light Effects embroidery threads (2 colours – see colour
key below)
DMC Satin embroidery threads (1 colour – see colour key below)
Fray stop (optional – can sew edges to seal if preferred)
Felt backing (optional)
Time for stitching!
Due to the fact that the back stitch used in this pattern is mostly edging work, I have
provided a view of the backstitch without the rest of the stitching. This is done to try and
make it easier for you to see where all the back stitch is, rather than having it blend into
the rest of the pattern.
