DESCRIPTION:

The project essentially involves the process controlling the application devices using DTMF
decoder 8870 and a microcontroller. This project is having dual role both manual operation and
automatic operation
The objective of this project is to design an embedded system which can control robot
remotely. This project is designed to study the basic implementation of DTMF (Dual Tone Multi
Frequency).
The DTMF signal is composed of high frequencies & low frequencies. Each key is
assigned a low frequency and a high frequency. When a particular key is pressed, the frequencies
those are specific to that particular key are transmitted. Therefore, no two keys will have a same
set of low & high frequencies.
We use DTMF decoder to develop this switch. The DTMF signals are transmitted from
the telephone and the decoder on receiving the set converts it to related digital signals. These
digital signals are fed to Microcontroller, and can be used to control appliances or nodes
remotely.
The system uses a compact circuitry build around flash version of AT89S52
microcontroller with a non volatile memory
Programs are developed using Embedded C, compiled using RIDE tool. ISP is used to

dump the code into microcontroller.

SOFTWARE:
Embedded ‘C’
RIDE to write code
ISP to burn the chip

HARDWARE:
At89s52 based our own developed board
Power Supply
DTMF Decoder
H-Bridge driver
Motors.
Ultrasonic sensor

ADVANTAGES: Low cost, automated operation, Low Power consumption.
