Learning area Introduction to science Topic 3. Life Processes In Humans

Content Standard 3.3 Humans Respond to Stimuli
Learning Standard 3.3.1 State that human sensory organs respond to stimuli by carrying out activities.
3.3.2 Explain with examples humans’ responses to stimuli in everyday life.
Learning Objective Pupils should be able to:
1. State that human sensory organs respond to stimuli by carrying out activities.
2. Explain with examples humans’ responses to stimuli in everyday life.
Success Criteria Pupils will be successful if they can:
1. watch the video and state how human sensory organs respond to stimuli.
2. discuss in groups about human response to stimuli and the sensory organs involved
3. list down condition which cause human to response.

Activity 1. Pupils carry out a simple fair test on stimuli and response. A students will be asked to
hold ice cubes to find out what is stimuli and response.
2. Pupils watch a video about human response to stimuli.(ICT)
3. Pupils discuss about the video.(Communication)
4. Pupils discuss and write the response and the sensory organs involved.(Cooperation)
5. Teacher explain about stimuli and response. a stimulus (plural stimuli) is a
detectable change in the internal or external environment. The ability of an organism
or organ to respond to external stimuli is called sensitivity.
6. Pupils explain what is the purpose of the response to stimuli and what happen if it not
function well ?(KBAT)
7. Pupil’s in-group list down stimuli and response in their daily life.
8. Pupils present their work in class. Others groups give comments and do correction if
necessary. (Collaborative).
9. Teacher give rewards to group that perform well. (reward chart)
10. Pupils do exercise in the given worksheets. Teacher guide and check pupil’s answer
11. Pupils will continue with extra questions after finish the worksheet. (anchor activity)
