Objectives: By the end of these activities SWBAT:

Activity 1:

* Identify new vocabulary words (Classroom Materials)

* Pronounce new vocabulary words.

Activity 2:

* Recognize Subject pronouns in sentences.

* Identify the verb To Be.

* Practice the use of pronouns and the verb To Be in sentences.

Activity 3:

* Use pronouns in sentences, replacing nouns.

* Conjugate the verb To Be, in order to complete a worksheet.

Activity 4:

* Create a poster showing what they have seen in the last 3 days of class.

Activity 5:

* Analyze and appraise each other’s poster.

* Express positive feedback, using target language.

Pronunciation and practice pronunciation with the Ss.

Listening / T will model what each pronoun stands for. (*Image Attached)

Reading T will complete model sentences on the board:

I am Rubén. I am a teacher. I am 34 years old.

Writing Ss will write sentences about themselves.

Listening T. will explain the use of the verb to be.

Activity 4: *Attendance*

T will ask students to use magazines and newspapers to make a poster portraying
everything they have seen in class the last 2 days.

Ss will create a poster incorporating everything they have seen in class.


Reading /
Writing

* Teacher will allow for enough time for the students to do this, while walking around
and seeing the progress they are making, helping out where needed. Important to 20 min
look out for Ss that get stuck and don’t know here to begin.

* SUGGESTION: THIS TIME MAY ALLOW FOR SOME MUSIC TO BE PLAYED IN THE
BACKGROUND. TO HELP STUDENTS RELAX.

RECOMMENDED: SOFT POP OR ANYTHING THEY MIGHT ENJOY.

Ss will stop working on their posters, and walk around the room looking at the other
Ss posters to see what they are doing, to see if they forgot to add something.
Reading

Ss return to their posters to complete their work. 5 min

Reading /
Writing Ss clean up their workspace, and help organize the classroom. And post their poster
on the wall (Only in centers where it is possible, if not, have the Ss organize a circle

around the room, and have them paste their poster on the edge of their desk.)

Activity 5: Gallery Walk:

Reading 1st Walk around: Ss will walk around the gallery observing each other’s completed 15 min
posters.

2nd Walk around: Ss in groups of 3 will go to their posters, and present them to their

Group Share: T will lead a discussion, where Ss take turns saying what they like about

someone else’s poster. (Only positive feedback!!!) 15 min

Have model language on the board:

Wrap Up Go over the day, by asking different Comprehension Checking Questions touching on 10 min
everything seen in class today.
