Develop a design brief, which  You have to make a decision at this point in the project: What will you design and create, 
presents the analysis of relevant  for whom and why. You want your decision to be based on sufficient background

⚙ How? 
Research results summary 
● Present​ the main results of your research (from A2) in a concise list of bullet points. This must be in your own words! 
● Illustrate​ your take-aways with imagery wherever you feel this reduces the amount of writing needed. However, don’t 
add images for the sake of adding images. Cite any images that you use. 
● Cite​ (in-text) from the sources that you found your answers from. Use the proper MLA format. 

DEFINITIONS  By consulting sources, I have found out: 


● A fabric is the cloth that is produced by weaving and knitting. 
● a material which is a flexible​ ​material that contains natural or artificial fibers. 
● Garments are scraps of clothings  

MANUFACTURING  By consulting sources about manufacturing cotton, I have found out: 


● Cotton textiles are formed by weaving, knitting, crocheting, knotting , tatting, 
felting, or braiding the material into cloth 
● Lining 2 pieces of fabric and pin them together and then use a sewing machine or 
a needle and thread and then iron them together to make it smooth and cut the 
extra parts that you don't need. 

TECHNIQUES AND  By consulting sources such as, I have found out the following information that I can use for 
TOOLS FOR MAKING  designing and creating my product: 
● use a chalk and draw grain lines on the cloth 
● Key features should be: 
↪ clear lines 
↪ smooth garment and no wrinkles 
↪ easy to read

CLIENT INFORMATION  By consulting sources such as, I have realized the following considerations should be 
taken into account when designing and creating my product: 
● I will design for my classmate, Tea. 
● The target group that she represents is 13 - 17 year old expat teenagers 
● The colour scheme is going to be pale and basic colours (eg; pastel pink, baby 
blue, black, white, gray) The client likes soft toys. 

PRACTICAL SKILLS  By completing the practical skills tasks, I have learned the following skills (list & explain): 
● Run on sewing and french sewing 
● Sewing a button on 
● End knot 
● Braiding  
The skills that will be useful for my project are (list & explain why): 
● Run on sewing and french sewing  
↪ use it for sewing the garments together   
● Sewing a button on 
↪ use to make the eyes of the stuffed toy 
The skills that I still need to practice or want to learn more about are (list & explain): 
● Turning the cloth inside out 
↪ i break the sewn part when i flip it inside out 
● Finishing knot 
↪ sometimes i still have some strings hanging out that can come untied

Product and Purpose   In this project, I will create a stuffed toy   


 
The purpose of my product is to reduce the fast fashion and reuse old garments that we 
don't use anymore and instead of throwing the garment away we reuse it  

Design Goal  My product will address the design problem of -textiles being quickly sent to landfills- by 
taking up space and wasting products that also pollute the world   
  
 

Intended   My product is intended to be used by a 13 year old girl who is in 2020 


Target audience 

Target audience representative  I would describe my client as a teenage girl in 2020 who likes the new trends 
 
Their needs and wants for the product are cotton, buttons, string, stuffing
