IS 456 202X - Draft will be released in Jul 2020
Code will be implemented in Jan 2021

Take away and key points of the discussion :

1. Strength and deformation

2. 6nos of Limit states*
3. Limiting strength instead of ultimate
4. Linear and Non linear analysis*
5. Design of shear (modified)
6. Major concentration on structural walls*
7. Detailed Maximum and Minimum % of reinforcements, Footing, Rafts, especially for
transverse reinfo, and % reinfo based on the Fck and Fy.
8. Additional L/D based on the slenderness of members for beams, one way slab and
two way.
9. Tensile strength specifications for high strength concrete.
10. Modifications in shear strength (Tc) w.r.t aggregate type, cross section size and
geometry factor.
11. Modification in shear strength (Tcmax)
12. Change in the empirical formula of (Ec) modulus of elasticity of concrete.
13. Modification in cube vs cylinder relationship ratio for assessment and not for
design.
14.  Ieff for Non-EQ and EQ structures.
15. Additional Basic load combinations 16nos (Force and displacement loads)
16. Load types : Force and displacement loads (including the load due to foundation
settlement)
17. Flexural behavior : Maintaining as URS and Limiting strength instead of Ultimate
strength.
18. Stress block parameters
19. Design stress strain curves
20. Map for Cover specifications (like EQ and wind map)

In-addition to above  :

1. IS 1343 will be merged with IS 456 and no separate code for PSC.
2. Consideration of Pre-stressed forces in global analysis - The global designer should
model the PT effects in model, the PT design has to be done together along with
other elements in the global mode.
3. Modification in Ratio of depth of neutral axis to centroid of tendon - Based on
Equilibrium Equations compatibility conditions, consecutive laws.
