🔎 What?

❗Why?

Develop a design brief, which  You have to make a decision at this point in the project: What will you design and create,
presents the analysis of relevant  for whom and why. You want your decision to be based on sufficient background
research.  research.

⚙ How?
Research results summary
● Present the main results of your research (from A2) in a concise list of bullet points. This must be in your own words!
● Illustrate your take-aways with imagery wherever you feel this reduces the amount of writing needed. However, don’t
add images for the sake of adding images. Cite any images that you use.
● Cite (in-text) from the sources that you found your answers from. Use the proper MLA format.

DEFINITIONS  By consulting sources, I have found out:

● Fabric is what something is made from usually for clothes, silk is a common
example of fabric.
● Textile is a material that’s made of fibers. There are usually two different types of
textile, natural textile and manufacture textile. Natural textile is from animals like
sheep and manufacture textile is man made or made from machine like nylon.
● Garment is clothes that’s manufactured by fabric or textile materials. Or another
way to say clothes.
● Fast fashion is products like clothes that are used for catwalks, it is causing a
problem of pollution like landfills and water pollution because it can only be used
for once, usually it becomes wastes. It also caused laborers.

MANUFACTURING  By consulting sources about manufacturing cotton, I have found out:

● To make a cotton textile, you have to make it into a strong yarn, it needs to be
twisted or spun. It can then be woven into cotton cloth. Once the cotton has been
spun, it can be woven into cloth.
● Cotton is a plant that is a member of the mallow family. It is a comfortable
material for warm climates.
● The basic joining methods are running stitch, cross stitch, back stitch and whip
stitch.

● I learned how to sew a button.
● I learned how to do a french knot.
The skills that will be useful for my project are (list & explain why):
● Over stitch. This will be useful because I will need to combine materials together
and over stitch will help me with that in my product.
● Running stitch. This helps me when I need to make a pattern in my product
● How to sew a button. This will help me to sew a button on my product.
● How to do a french knot. This will help me to finish a stitch on my product.
The skills that I still need to practice or want to learn more about are (list & explain):
