    Computer Methods For Advanced Power System analysis

    1. Model the Zimbabwe National Grid in NEPLAN putting the dynamic data of all
    synchronous machines represented at national grid level, line data and Transformer
    data.
    2. Run the modell to check the load flows on the present system configuration, Asses
    the effects of the addition of Hwange units 7&8.
    3.How does the system respond when old units are taken out of service.
    4.Find out if Introducing Batoka hydro power station can replace the old units.
    5. Find out the system response to the addiction of Solar PVs to the grid.
    6.Include class exercise on Newton Raphson and Gauss siedel method and NEPLAN.

    Submission: Students are allowed to work in groups of not more than 4 people. Each
    student to write a statement on the contributions made to the group work. Submission to
    include a Zip file, a CD and a Hard copy. Zip file to be emailed.

    Renewable Energy Generation.


    1.Write an essay on prospects of renewable energy in Zimbabwe up to 2040.
    2.Include examples and exercises in the portfolio.
