Information on Joliet Junior College for Fall 2020 admittance

Hello JJC High School Partners!

I hope this email finds you, your family, and students well during this critical time. Thank you all
for your patience and commitment to our high school programs and for supporting your
students in meeting all necessary requirements for these programs.

One area of concern has been placement testing for high school students enrolled in our high
school programs (Dual Credit, Transition Math, etc.) and providing a viable remote placement
option. Our team has been working really hard to meet these testing needs, and I am excited to
announce the following updates:

 Students can now take a remote placement test using a school-owned Chromebook.
Our testing team worked hard to find a solution and work-around to make sure students
can take an ALEKS or Accuplacer exam on a school-owned Chromebook for math and
English placement.
 Amber Carlisle, Testing Services Associate, will be working with a team of JJC proctors to
help schedule and administer placement exams for high school students enrolled in a JJC
high school program. Amber and her team will work with high school staff to set-up
testing sessions and guide students through the appointment and remote proctoring
process throughout the next several weeks.

We are aware that many high schools are wrapping up their spring
semesters and existing deadlines, however we are doing the best we can to
manage this testing volume with our current staff resources and time.
Therefore, we are asking that you consider flexibility with your testing
deadlines and allow us to work with your students throughout the upcoming
weeks to satisfy their placement testing needs.

Please reach out to Amber Carlisle at acarlisl@jjc.edu to set up placement appointments for
your students or have students reach out to Amber directly. As a reminder, JJC's Testing
Services is using Microsoft Teams to proctor all remote placement exams. All
information about remote testing can be found at www.jjc.edu/placement.
As a very important reminder, once students
complete a Virtual Placement Testing Request,
please make sure they check their JJC student
email for all appointment information.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns, and
thank you again for allowing us to meet your academic and testing needs.
