 PROJECT PROPOSAL

TITLE OF THE PROJECT: Design of a farmer friendly intelligent system to

monitor and control the parameters in the agriculture land.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT: The main objective of the proposed system is to

design a farmer friendly intelligent system for monitoring and control the land parameters.
And also to provide the “SMS on Demand service” to get the status of all parameters

EXISTING PROBLEMS: Generally the farmers in the society are facing a lot of
problems in irrigation like motor failures, phase changeover and existing system contains 3
phase identification and automation in on/off of the motor watering the lands irrespective of
the water resources, humidity & moisture level and. Apart from these an adverse effect on
crop yield is observed due to intruders (Human beings, Wild animals and Birds).

PROPOSED SYSTEM /INNOVATION: In the proposed system we design an

intelligent monitoring and control system, which provides the “SMS on Demand service” to
get the status of all parameters like water resource availability, soil’s moisture content, 3
phase power supple availability and the intruder detection. The system helps the farmer in
automatic operating of the motor according to his need i.e., whether the water is required for
the crop or not. Even though all the parameters are available to operate the motor, with
farmer’s need the motor can be switched ON/OFF. It can be accomplished by SMS based
/missed call alert system. Hence the farmer can operate the motor whenever he wants.

According to the climatic conditions, water level in the field can be detected by using
specific sensors. The system identifies the soil’s moisture content & surrounding temperature
and the result will be given to the farmer. To avoid the intruders entering the crop the system
has the continuous tracking system when any intruder like animals, birds & human beings
enters an alert signal will be given to the farmer.
