Defense/MES, Railways)
➢5 Architects elected by IIA
➢2 persons nominated by instituted of
engineers

➢1 person nominated by institute of surveyors

• Three main function of COA
➢Enrolment of persons holding recognized
qualifications
➢Regulate professional conduct of architects
➢Assessment of the standard of education &
training of architects within country
Note:- COA should meet every 6 months
Annual report need to be published in the
Gazette of India

activity
➢Can votes as well as contest in election held
by IIA
➢They can write A.I.I.A after his name

• Fellow Member
➢An associate member with 36 and more year
years old and has been associate member of
more than 10 years can become fellow
member on application
➢They can practice as arbitrator
➢All other right of fellow member is the same
as associate
➢Pay membership fee

• Honorary Fellow Member
➢Person may not be a qualified architect but
contributed to architectural profession in
some way
➢No voting right
➢This is only a honor bestowed on the person
