This summary is provided to assist the proposer in completing their proposal in providing
UFFU with project monitoring of current ongoing boarding construction at Mbazzi High
School Bujuuko
Summary of the expected services to be rendered
Proposed Scope of Works for Engineering / Construction Consultant
1. Review and discuss the plans, ▪ In conjunction with the UFFU Construction Manager,
the budget, the materials we review and discuss concept designs / structural
plan to use and how we plan to drawings as well as the proposed materials to be used
build the boarding school. Flag in construction and the methods of construction
any issues and suggest any proposed. Report on any identified deficiencies in
alterations required UFF’s construction plans, materials to be used or other
issues and suggest appropriate alternatives
▪ Review budget to completion
▪ Check or develop workplace health and safety plan
2. Look at what we’ve done so far ▪ Investigation and assessment of construction work
and advise if there are any issues undertaken to date (check that what has been done
from a building or compliance makes sense, has been done properly from a technical
perspective. Identify any / workmanship perspective and is compliant with
changes / modifications required building codes / regulations etc)
before building of ▪ Identify any changes / modifications or other issues
superstructure starts that are required to be addressed before construction
of superstructure can commence
3. Help us design toilets / showers ▪ Consult with UFFU and assist in designing amenity
/ laundry facilities and help blocks, including showers, bathrooms and laundry
determine best location facilities, including the most appropriate location and
design within the proposed construction site
4. Regular on-site oversight / ▪ Regular, ongoing oversight of construction activities
inspection of construction including weekly site inspections
works. Work with us to remedy ▪ Ongoing review of building methods (technical
issues as they arise competence / safety) and materials (suitability) used
▪ Sign off each stage of construction and provide
approval to proceed to next stage.
▪ Review budget spent, approve variations (in
conjunction with UFFU Australia management) and
analyse budget to completion on monthly basis.
▪ Assistance and advice in remedying any issues

5. Advise on any modifications ▪ Advise on any modifications that may be required
required for compliance reasons during construction to ensure compliance with
technical building codes / environment / fire and
safety requirements / other.
▪ Approve variations for compliance.
6. Do a completion audit and sign ▪ Check any outstanding work for completion
off on construction ▪ Full completion inspection and audit and sign off on
workmanship / build in the completed facility from perspective of
accordance with plans / workmanship / compliance / fire and safety / fit for
compliance etc purpose
▪ Conduct a lessons learned review and report
7. Post-completion inspection/s ▪ Undertake post-completion inspections for a certain
and defect rectification period of time. Notify any defects and propose and
monitor rectifications required
