Equinox constructs Pvt Ltd would be a small construction firm in Bengaluru. The firm will
be operating in Bengaluru on both small and medium scale construction, repair, and
alteration projects focused on residential contracting. With the business boom that is
occurring in Bengaluru and the desire to improve overall profit margins, the company is
also planning to venture into construction of green building and also into commercial
construction. This business plan will lay out my goals and tasks to make this transition
successful and create enough market shares to succeed in this highly competitive
market.

The firm would be started with a minimum budget i.e. around Rs.25 Lakhs

Objectives

 Significantly expand into the commercial and office building contracting market
to improve profit margins and increase local market share.
 Venture into construction of green buildings

Mission
EC would strive to offer the finest quality design, site preparation, cost estimates,
construction, repair, and alteration to clients needing small and medium scale
construction services

Vision
 Secure at least five large scale commercial contracts over the first three years
 Expand base into other geographic areas such as outskirts of Bengaluru

In real terms, the Indian construction industry registered an average annual growth rate
of 3.5% during the review period (2012–2016). The industry is expected to continue to
expand over the forecast period (2017–2021), driven by investments in residential,
infrastructure and energy projects. Therefore there is a great potential for us to grow.
Green construction has also made inroads into Indian market due to impetus given on
renewable energy, recycling of materials etc

Analysis of competitors
There would be a large number of competitors to us. We would not like to draw
comparison with them. We would thrive to be the most trusted company amongst our
clients. We would also pay attention and take their opinion .

Market segmentation
Urban Projects
ECC focuses on construction and re-construction projects within urban locations. Office
and residential buildings make up a majority of these projects. ECC desires to establish
and maintain long-term relationships. Recent industry trends seem to suggest that this
segment will retain a relatively high growth rate for the foreseeable future.

Government Contract Projects


ECC has plans to take up govt projects. High visibility and competitive bids are critical to
capture this segment of the market. One of the reasons why this segment is attractive is
its relative stability. Contracts from these sources are not dependent on the current
market conditions and will provide revenue even during an economic downturn.

The construction industry in value terms is expected to record a CAGR of 15.7% to reach
US$ 738.5 billion by 2022.

Equinox offers services that allow the company to do whatever it takes to finish a
project. Some of these services include- design work, remodeling and alterations,
permitting, site preparation, carpentry, cement foundations, painting, and plumbing and
utilities installation. In addition, skills Equinox lacks can be subcontracted.

ECC would be having only a small amount of debt and intends to stay that way. We
expect to see increased profits by the end of 2nd year. Over the next three years we
expect lower profits as we make inroads into this tough market(Green building).

Size of Business
Ours would be a small size company with very disciplined staffs. We would be confined
to Bengaluru only with a 600sqft office @Wilson Garden.

Office equipment and personnel


We would be owning 5 Personal computers which would be supported by an Inverter
and two printers. We would be hiring 9(6 in office and 3 on site) employees who would
be working under us .Employees working at the sites would be hired based on contract
as their is scarcity of workers in Bengaluru. Construction equipments are hired from
third party.

Background of entrepreneur
Mr. Beerappa is a civil engineer by profession who has successfully carried out many
small scale projects in Bengaluru.
