Tips for Salon Customers

Once Governor Lamont removes the closure order of salons, only the following services are
allowed to be offered: haircuts, hair coloring, hair styling, some waxing activities and self-
tanning services.
FVHD has been in contact with all of our permitted salons. They have been notified of the
additional requirements & guidelines that must be instituted during this reopening phase.
These safety tips are intended for the salon customer:
● People over the age of 65 or with health conditions should not visit salons.
● Make an appointment so you spend no excess time inside facility.
● Do not visit a salon if you are sick. Screening by the salon must also be done when
appointment is made and upon arrival.
● Wash hands with warm water & soap after entering salon and when leaving. Use paper
towels or single service towels for drying hands. Hand sanitizer is an acceptable alternative.
● Wear a face mask at all times when inside facility. Take notice that all others in salon
also have masks on. Stylists must wear face shields too.
● Do not eat or drink inside salon.
● Ask if the commonly touched surfaces have been recently disinfected.
● If needed, use the hand sanitizer that should be displayed.
● Ensure that you keep 6’ of social distance between yourself & others.
● Pay with a credit card in order to avoid extra handling involved with using money. Also
limit touching other things within the salon.
● Prohibited services at this time: lip/chin waxing, nail treatments, piercing, tattooing &
airbrush spray tanning
