Identification of Hazard: Cracked Hand Rails
Cracked handrails  may cause accidents wherein a person may clasp their hand and cause
bleeding. It may also result into further damage making a simple crack of the handrail to a
completely broken one, since students use the hand rails on day to day basis.
Location of Hazard: Stairway Connecting 4th and 5th Floor (Women CR Side)
Type of Hazard: Structural Hazard
Measures: Apply plaster or cement to fully fill the crack

Identification of Hazard: Broken Hand Rails

Broken handrails are a common cause of accidents with the main type being slips, trips and
falls. These accidents can happen anyway and may lead to injuries. In many cases what could
have been a minor accident is made worse as a result of a broken, defective or faulty handrail.
Location of Hazard: Stairway Connecting 1st and 2nd floor (Men CR Side)
Type of Hazard: Structural Hazard
Measures: Apply plaster or cement to fully fill the crack
Identification of Hazard: Missing Hand Rails
Handrails provide added stability and safety, especially for children and the elderly. If there are
no handrails, or if they are not sufficiently secured, they cannot help preventing falls.
Location of Hazard: Stairway Connecting Weiman Building to Gisbert Hall
Type of Hazard: Structural Hazard
Measures: Install Hand Rails

Identification of Hazard: Missing Hand Rails

If the wiring gets wet., it can corrode and cause problems with the wiring and the performance of
of the water fountain and any electrical device connected to it. It can either electrocute someone
or cause permanent damage to devices.
Location of Hazard: 2nd Floor hallway beside men CR
Type of Hazard: Electrical Hazards
Measures: Cover/Secure the dangling wire and sockets
Identification of Hazard: Improper Pipe Isolation
Unwanted debris on hallway during earthquake, fire, natural disaster may disrupt the natural
evacuation procedure and may cause trips, cuts on the person passing through it. Furthermore,
intense panic evacuation may leave the pipe unnoticed and may cause stampede on the
hallway.
Location of Hazard: 5th Floor hallway beside men CR
Type of Hazard: Physical Hazard
Measures: Cut and Properly Seal the Extruding Pipes

Identification of Hazard: Improper Placement of Fire Extinguishers

Though the fires are a real hazard, improper placement of fire extinguishers may lead people to
die from fires unnecessarily. During fire emergency, Fireman or safety officers may unable to
locate the fire extinguishers if it is hidden at plain sight. Furthermore, setting the fire extinguisher
at the floor may result into explosion of the tank when fire/heat is set near it.
Location of Hazard: 4th Floor Women CR
Type of Hazard: Physical Hazard/ Fire Hazard
Measures: Place the fire extinguisher on the wall (Body Level)
Identification of Hazard: Deficient CR needs
Having no soap and tissue on the comfort room may lead to spreading of bacteria. As we know
the comfort room is one of the dirtiest place on the school building, in which people snot, urinate
and defecate, with no soap on the CR premise, the person will not be able to thoroughly wash
their hands and may able to spread bacteria afterwards.
Location of Hazard: Men’s CR (2nd to 4th Floor)
Type of Hazard: Health Hazard/ Biohazard
Measures: Replace/Refill more often
