Northern coniferous forest
•Is a kind of biome situated in temperate
regions of the globe that experience warm
summers and cool winters.
•Commonly found on most of the mountain
tops in the world.
•The worlds largest land biome.

•Northern coniferous forests thrive in tropical
and subtropical climates.
•During winter months precipitation falls as
snow, while in the summer, it falls as rain.
•It experiences freezing winter and ranges
from mild to excessively hot during summer.
Temperature
•The average temperature of
coniferous forest biome is 50̊ degrees
Fahrenheit.
•The average temperature is -40
degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius.

•The average annual precipitation in this
biome is 300mm to 900mm or 30cm – 90cm
per year.
•Few coniferous forest get more than
2000mm or 200 cm of rain annually.
•The total amount of precipitation on this
biome hinges on its location.

Fauna
•Coniferous forest has mostly cold temperature,
which makes it harder for animals to survive.
•Most animals develop thick coats of fur when
winter strikes to insulate themselves from freezing
temperature.
•Some animals also do hibernation.
•Those who are not able to develop adaptation
migrate to warmer areas.
