* ULTRALITE HI.STRENGTTI LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE(HS)

Ultralite HS is a non-metalicSilica Basedmineral which is heatedto suitable

temperature, resulting in multiplicity of non-conductivetiny air cells accountingfor
the strongbut lightweight and excellentthermal insulationproperties.

Ultralite HS combinedwith portlandcementandwaterusingordinaryor conventional

procedures(no needof specialequipment)produceshi-strengthlightweightconcretethat
is used for curtain wall system, floor toppings, lightweight structuralbeamsand for a
varietyof permanentlightweightapplications. An air entrainingagentis usedto improve
the work ability andto controlwatercontentandinsulationvalue.

MIX DESIGNCONSIDERATIONS:
Thedeadloadandstrengthsareall controlledby the final densityor weightper cubic
foot of the concrete.Thusasthe densityincreases,
the strengthandthe deadloadalso
increases but the insulationvaluedecreases.

1. As curtain wall, partition walls, fire walls, roof deck insulation panels,
precastconcretearticlesand non-load walls.
2. Floor fills / lightweight hollow block, reducethe deadload in multi-story
buildings.
1. TOB MIXING

Ultralite HS should be mixed in mechanicalmixer. The required amount of water & AEA as
specified for the batch is placed in the mixer later, rotate or mix solution, followed by
cement and sand (depending on the density required) and HS aggregates. The batch is
mixed until workable with a slump of approximately 7 (about I 112 to 3 minutes)'
Then wet density of the concrete is checked against the specified range for confirmation,
then dischargedimmediately.Mixing time is governedby the type of equipmentusedand can
be determinedby checkingthe wet density of the concreteat intervals until the specifiedwet

3. PLACEMENT

3.1 Due to the hard structure and medium density of H. S. Aggregate,

It is ideal to use pumpcreteor bucket when transporting from transit tii*"t
(truck) to project site. It does not separatefrom the cement and sand mixture
when pumping. Unlike the other soft type and super light density aggregate.

3.2 Also, due to its hard structure. Ultralite H.S. Aggregate doesn't easily breakl
crumble while mixing therefore resulting to a more consistent lightweight
concrete.Theproduct quality doesn'tchangeeven when mixing time is piolongeA.
