Elements are important, mostly the biogenic elements or bioelements, as they are those

chemical elements that are part of living beings, so they are the basic unit for the existance of
organisms and humans. These elements can be divided into three groups (Kerchak, 2017):

1. Primary or main bioelements: C, H, O, N. They are the majority elements of living

matter, they constitute 95% of the total mass, which shows its importance for living
beings.
2. Secondary bioelements S, P, Mg, Ca, Na, K, Cl. We find them as part of all living
things, and in a proportion of 4.5%.
3. Trace elements. This is the name given to the set of chemical elements that are
present in organisms vestigially, but which are indispensable for the harmonious
development of the organism.

We consider oxygen an important element, as it is part of water, oxides, living things and
almost all organic acids and substances. It is a gas, which is essential for breathing (Beck,
2020). Another important element is hydrogen, and its importance can be seen in the fact that
in conjunction with the oxygen, it makes up water, an essential and important compound for
every living being. Water is an inorganic compound, which helps the development and
growth of living things (Rivera, 2018).
