EU as a supranational organization

The EU has become the economic, political and diplomatic, and militarily most vital
influencer.

 Economy
The EU is the world’s second-largest economy with a GDP of about $18.8 trillion in 2018
slightly lesser than that of the United States.its currency has appeared to be emerge stronger
than that to USD in the recent years Its economic power gives it influence over its closest
neighbors as well as in Asia and Africa. It also functions as an essential bloc in international
economic organizations such as the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

 Political and Diplomatic influence

The EU also has political and diplomatic influence. France, hold permanent seat on the UN
Security Council. The EU includes several non-permanent members of the UNSC. This has
enabled the EU to influence world politics such as on attracting global attention for starting a
probe on investigation on the emergence of SARS Cov-2 indirectly a probe on china and
filling several suits by EU member countries also influenced other countries to start
demanding reparations considering the carelessness of china in dealing with the virus as a war
against humanity.and also the indications on Turkey joining the EU would also ease its
relations with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation as whole and throwing off the china ‘s
mission to divide and rule in Europe as the most conflicted identities would join hands

 Militarily
The EU has (theoretically) over 1.5 million personnel, nearly 7,700 tanks, 2,450 aircraft
(including helicopters), and nearly 550 warships and submarines on-call.although it was
standing at second in the world till UK contributed by its military force but Brexit changed the
place for the EU It is also the world’s second most important source of space and communications
technology.
