SENIOR PROJECT SELF-EVALUATION

Directions: Utilize this worksheet to help evaluate yourself and your project. Be as complete
and descriptive as possible. This self-evaluation should give the scoring team a clear picture of
what you accomplished in your project.

Name - Ariah Burton Project Start Date – Second Semester, 2020

Title of Project - Community Baby shower Project Completion Date - May 19th,2020

1. In 40 words or more describe who your project benefited and how. In other words, what was the
impact of your project?

My project benefited mothers and fathers who was in need of baby clothes and diapers. This was mainly
the neighborhood by my church. My church is located in a lower income area and at our church we do
many things to help the neighborhood out. I wanted to help the babies and the parents out this time.
However I donated the clothes to CHKD which helps the parents out because they can get clothes for
affordable prices. I have donated the diapers to the daycare at my church which helps out the daycare and
the moms.

2. In at least 40 words explain how the project challenged you. How was this a stretch for you?

This project challenged me because I have never created an event. I just helped out but planning and
creating it is a whole different story. What challenged me the most was when school closed and many
people still had to give me items and they couldn't give me the items because school was closed. I had to
make the decision the drive to everyone's houses to get the items so I can still keep collecting. However,
after everything shut down the most challenging thing was figuring out what to do next because my event
is cancelled.
3. List and then describe 5-8 fundamental ideas/concepts/skills of your project, which you
learned/enhanced during your project.

Communication- I had to learn how to communicate with people to pass out flyers and to get the word
across about my project. I also had to ask for help when i needed it. I can't be scared to ask for help.
Organization skills - I learned how to organize and keep everything neat so I don't loose anything
important.
Time management- I couldn't hold off anything until the next day because then it would either be too late
or people won't have enough time to donate items
Stressing- Even though I did stressed I found new ways to cope with it.
Planning- I had to create different plans to make sure everything would run smoothly.

4. List and describe 4-8 problems/obstacles/issues you encountered in your project, and briefly
describe how you solved each.

Getting other churches involved- I wanted to get other churches involved but i already had enough on my
plates so i asked one person from each church to be a spokesman for me
Getting my apartment complex involved- There was a lot of things I couldn't do with my apartment
complex. I had to go by their rules
Gathering items- I live in an apartment and it was hard having a bunch of boxes and bag everywhere
Covid-19- The biggest challenge of all was definitely the virus because it cancelled everything however i
did make due and it all worked out fine.

5. List materials used.

Car
boxes
paper
tape

6. List all people who helped you on the project and briefly describe the help given.

The people that donated because without them i wouldn't have a project.

My family and friends for getting the word out and being very supportive of me and helping me
when i need a second opinion.

My two pastors for letting me use the building when I needed it and letting me do the project at
the church.
7. How does your completed project compare to the picture you had in mind when you started the
project? Explain the reason behind any changes from your proposal.

Nothing at all. I had planned out a grand big project and I had everything set up but something
happened that no one can control so I was unable to do my project. Covid-19 changed everything
about my project. I was going to have a community outreach project but I only got to donate to my
daycare and chkd instead of donating directly to the parents

8. If given the opportunity, explain what you would have done differently now that you speak from
experience?
I can't answer this question because I had to cancel my project. The only thing overall would be time
managing the whole project better.

9. Beyond the project itself, what did you learn about yourself?

I get stressed very easily and I am really good at designing and planning.

10. What grade would you give yourself on the project? Justify the evaluation of your grade in at
least 25 words.

Grade: A (93)
Justification:

I feel that I did a great job with what I have done before and after the virus. I feel that I could have put
more effort into planning
