program?

B: Hello, very well and you? I think it is a very good idea to implement a general training program,
but do you already have in mind if for all the staff?

A: Good. I would think that only for the new staff to integrate more with the company.

B: Perfect, the new staff has asked for that training in the survey made last week but I didn't know
how to introduce the program, could you help me with the topics for the training?

A: Sure, I have a list of possible topics to be covered. Among them we can find topics related to the
company team, computer knowledge, customer service, company organization and product
training.

B: Those topics are interesting, but it would be good to choose only three.

A: Of course, then we can use one week for each topic?

B: Okay, that's fine. The topics would be computer knowledge, customer service and I don't know
what you think about company organization?

A: I would recommend that you change the organization of the company for the company team,
because you can complement the knowledge of everything we can find in the company, its
usefulness and proper management.

B: I hadn't thought about it that way, but you are right. Then in the afternoon you pass me all the
information so that I can start running the training programme.

A: Ok, in the afternoon I give you all the information.

B: Thanks, any questions you need you can call me.

A: Well, don't worry.

SCENARIO 2:

You’re going to talk about something together for about two minutes: A young man works very
hard, and has only one free day a week. He wants to find an activity to help him relax. Here are
some activities that could help him relax:

Go to the gym

Travel with his/her family to a close place

Sleep the whole day

Read a book

Call his/ her friends

Talk together about the different activities he could do, and say which would be most relaxing.

Answer

A: Hi, I want to tell you that I have a day off during my week, I would like you to advise me what
activity I can do on that day so that I can relax.

B: Hi, I could give you some advice that works for me a lot so that you can relax since you only
have one day off in your week.

A: Ok, I'm listening

B: if you are an active person, I would recommend that on the day you are free you take some
time to go to the gym

A: I understand, but why do you recommend me to go to the gym and not to sleep all day?

B: Look at because when you do a physical activity, your body releases endorphins that act as a
natural calming agent for your nervous system so you can feel more relaxed

A: I would like you to comment on the benefits of exercising please

B: ok, exercising will help you reduce cholesterol levels, cardiovascular problems and also help you
reduce daily stress, going to the gym helps take care of your body and your mind.

A: But why does exercise eliminate stress?

B: Physical exercise increases endorphins. When you exercise your body releases endorphins, also
known as happiness hormones, giving your system an overall sense of well-being. This will
decrease your nervous tension and allow you to relax.

A: Very good, and what other activity could you recommend?

B: Well, I can also tell you that you can read a book, that is also called cerebral gymnastics, reading
will keep your brain in shape, it stimulates you and relaxes you. It also helps you to stay healthy
longer and you can prevent illnesses.

A: Thank you very much for your good recommendation, I understand that you know a lot about
these subjects. I'll start practicing to see which one works best for me, see you later.

pens

baseball caps

Answer:

A: Hi, how are you? Do you know about the promotion the company will be doing at the end of
the year?

B: Hello, very well. Yes, I got an e-mail announcing a meeting to choose the gifts.

A: Do you already have any idea of gifts for our clients?

B: Of course, I've thought of something different because our clients in the month of December
are looking for products and services to give away. It would be good to give them as a kind of gift
as a reminder and that they always use it.

A: I agree with you, I heard an idea of gifts like T-shirts, pens and golf calculator, but I think they
are not relevant.

B: What you said sounds great, but almost every company has such gifts with their customers.
Also, pens get damaged.

A: You're right, I had thought of gifts like baseball caps, umbrellas, a wall clock and a calendar.
These are gifts that our clients will use at any time.

B: All right, those gifts are suitable for any special date. We could design a calendar with our
different products, with the special dates and with some images according to the month.

A: Ok, I think those 4 gifts are perfect. Could you help me with the quote?

B: Yes, I already have companies that offer this kind of gifts, I'll give you all the information later.

A: Thank you, any other ideas, please let me know.

B: Okay.

SCENARIO 4:

A company wants to motivate staff to work harder. Talk together for about 2minutes about some
of the things the company could do to motivate them and then decide together which three things
would be the best. Here are some ideas to help you:

Higher salaries

More training

Bonus payments

More holidays

Flexible working hours

Private health insurance

New offices

Free company transport

Answer
A: Hello, how are you? I'd like to tell you something that's going on at the company.

B: Hello, very well. You can tell me what's going on.

A: As you know, in the area of human resources we use performance indicators in the workers and
we have noticed that in the last 2 months they have not been the best.

B: How so? I wasn't aware of that, tell me a little more?

A: Okay. The workers have lowered their production and sales, so I conducted a customer
satisfaction survey and it wasn't what I expected.

B: And you know what to do? I think it's good to implement motivation to the staff in order to
achieve the goal of the month.

A: That's what I wanted to tell you, several employees told us about being without good conditions
to work harder, so I have some ideas to be able to motivate the workers.

B: I'm listening

A: Some workers say they want higher wages, bonus payments, vacations, more flexible working
hours and more training.

B: No, on the issue of wages I disagree, it could be better to pay bonuses for performance
indicators is a good option that workers want to sell more than planned.

A: Yes, it is something I consider important. Also, we can implement more flexible working hours
and more training, I don't know what you say

B: I support your idea, if you want you can arrange a report of what is going to be developed so
that I can approve your idea and you can inform the staff.

A: Okay, I'll start making the report. I'll send it to you later and you can call me as soon as you have
the answer.

B: Thank you, I will be looking forward to your report.
