– EXPLORATORY DRAFTING
Week 5: February 24 – 28, 2020
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of 60-minute lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Define the Elements of Design,
b. draw a dream house while incorporating all Elements of Design, and
c. appreciate the importance of the Elements of Design.
Day 1
Lecture: Discuss the Elements of Design. Give examples to elaborate.
Call some students to define the different elements of design on their own.
Day 2
3. Application
Group work. Students will be divided into 3 groups. Groups will be given 20 mins.
to talk about their ideal house. They will draw their ideas on a paper first. After
finalizing their thoughts, they will be given another 20 mins. to draw it on the
board. A representative from the group will explain their drawing.
4. Generalization
Day 3
Ask the students if they were an element of design, what are they and why. They
will be given 10 minutes to think and after that, they will present their answers in
front of the class one by one.
Ask the students what they have learned from the discussion and activity.
Ask the students about the value of the elements of design and why is it important
to know them.
Ask them what part of lesson that needs clarification.
Day 4
IV. EVALUATION
Individual work. In T.L.E. portfolio, draw your dream house creatively while
incorporating all the elements of design. Color and provide a name for your house.
Rubric is provided for scoring basis.
RUBRIC
EXCELLENT – 20 PTS
- Task is done creatively.
- Incorporated all elements of design in the output.
- Colored and provided name for the house.
- Neatly done and no erasures.
GOOD – 15 PTS
- Task is done.
- Incorporated most of the elements of design in the output.
- Colored but provided name for the house or vice versa.
- Done with only few erasures.
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT – 10 PTS
- Task is done unprolifically.
- Incorporated only few elements of design in the output.
- Not colored and did not provide name for the house.
- Many erasure.
