LESSON PLAN IN T.L.E.

– EXPLORATORY DRAFTING
Week 4: February 17 -21, 2020

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of 60-minute lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Differentiate the discussed basic letter styles,
b. write sentences using the discussed basic letter styles, and
c. value the importance of knowing the basic letter styles.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Exploratory Drafting
Sub-topic: Four Basic Letter Styles – Gothic, Roman, Italic, Text
Materials needed:Visual aids, chalk and board

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings and Classroom Management
3. Attendance
B. Developmental Activities
a. Review of Past Lesson: Methods of Lettering
Ask the students what they have learned about the topic yesterday.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation
Show images of various letter styles to the students. Students will say their
ideas regarding the images.
2. Presentation of the Lesson

Day 1
Lecture: Using visual aid, discuss Gothic.
Show examples and have the students write the examples on their
own.
Students will try to write a sentence using some of the Gothic letter style.

Day 2
Lecture: Using visual aid, discuss Roman.
Show examples and have the students write the examples on their
own.
Students will try to write a sentence using some of the Roman letter style.

Day 3
Lecture: Using visual aid, discuss Text and Italic.
Show examples and have the students write the examples on their
own.
Students will try to write a sentence using some both of the letter style.

3. Application
Group work. Students will be divided into 4 groups:
1 – Gothic
2 – Roman
3 – Text
4 – Italic
The group will be given 10 minutes to brainstorm about the characteristics of
the assigned letter system. After finalizing their thoughts, the group
representative will present their opinion.

4. Generalization
Ask the students what they have learned from the discussion and activity.
Ask the students about the importance of knowing the four basic letter styles.
Ask them what part of lesson that needs clarification.

Day 4

IV. EVALUATION
Individual work. In T.L.E. portfolio, write the following sentences in four basic letter
styles – Gothic, Roman, Text, and Italic.

I am (your name).
I am a Filipino.
I am proud of my beloved nation.

RUBRIC

EXCELLENT – 5 PTS
- Task is done creatively.
- Had written the sentences in 4 basic letter styles – Gothic, Roman, Text, and Italic.
- Neatly done and no erasures.
GOOD – 3 PTS
- Task is done.
- Had written the sentences in 3 basic letter styles any from Gothic, Roman, Text,
and Italic.
- Done with only few erasures.
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT – 2 PTS
- Task is done unprolifically.
- Had written the sentences in 2 and below basic letter styles any from Gothic,
Roman, Text, and Italic.
- Many erasure.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Research and read about the Elements of Design.
