Lesson A: The Weather

Vocabulary

1. Clear: Something clear is something transparent.


2. Cloudy: full of clouds.
3. Foggy: The weather phenomenon is caused by air near to the Earth's surface cooling and
turning to water vapour, blocking visibility as a result.
4. Snowy: covered with snow.
5. Sunny: bright with sunlight.
6. Windy: exposed to strong winds.
7. Raining: when the rain falls.
8. Snowing: when snow falls.
9. Partly: a fraction; not completely.
10. Mostly: something that is almost complete.
11. Chilly: uncomfortably or unpleasantly cold.
12. Cold: a low or relatively low temperature.
13. Comfortable: free from stress.
14. Freezing: below 0°C.
15. Hot: very high temperature.
16. Warm: a comfortable high temperature.
