1.Expalin the concept and mechanism of genetic engineering?

What is genetic engineering? 

Genetic engineering is the process of manually adding new DNA to an organism. The
goal is to add one or more new traits that are not already found in that organism.
Examples of genetically engineered (transgenic) organisms currently on the market
include plants with resistance to some insects, plants that can tolerate herbicides, and
crops with modified oil content.

Understanding Genetic Engineering: Basic Biology 

To understand how genetic engineering works, there are a few key biology concepts
that must be understood.

CONCEPT #1: What is DNA? 

DNA is the recipe for life. DNA is a
molecule found in the nucleus of every cell
and is made up of 4 subunits represented
by the letters A, T, G, and C. The order of
these subunits in the DNA strand holds a
code of information for the cell. Just like
the English alphabet makes up words using
26 letters, the genetic language uses 4
letters to spell out the instructions for how
to make the proteins an organism will need
to grow and live.

Small segments of DNA are called genes. Each gene holds the instructions for how to
produce a single protein. This can be compared to a recipe for making a food dish. A
recipe is a set of instructions for making a single dish.

An organism may have thousands of genes. The set of all genes in an organism is
called a genome. A genome can be compared to a cookbook of recipes that makes that
organism what it is. Every cell of every living organism has a cookbook.

CONCEPT #2: Why are proteins important? 

Proteins do the work in cells. They can be part of structures (such as cell walls,
organelles, etc). They can regulate reactions that take place in the cell. Or they can
serve as enzymes, which speed-up reactions. Everything you see in an organism is
either made of proteins or the result of a protein action.
CONCEPT #3: How is DNA important
in genetic engineering? 
DNA is a ‘universal language’, meaning the
genetic code means the same thing in all
organisms. It would be like if all cookbooks
around the world were written in a single
language that everyone knew. This
characteristic is critical to the success of
genetic engineering. When a gene for a
desirable trait is taken from one organism
and inserted into another, it gives the
‘recipient’ organism the ability to express
that same trait.

How is genetic engineering done? 

Genetic engineering, also called transformation, works by physically removing a gene
from one organism and inserting it into another, giving it the ability to express the trait
encoded by that gene. It is like taking a single recipe out of a cookbook and placing it
into another cookbook.

2.Explain the mechanism of breathing in humans?

he film begins with a feather
falling to the feet of Forrest
Gump who is sitting at a bus stop
in Savannah, Georgia. Forrest picks up
the feather and puts it in the book
Curious George, then tells the story of
his life to a woman seated next to him.
The listeners at the bus stop change
regularly throughout his narration, each
showing a different attitude ranging
from disbelief and indifference to rapt
veneration.
On his first day of school, he meets a
girl named Jenny, whose life is followed
in parallel to Forrest's at times. Having
discarded his leg braces, his ability to
run at lightning speed gets him into
college on a football scholarship. After
his college graduation, he enlists in the
army and is sent to Vietnam, where he
makes fast friends with a black man
named Bubba, who convinces Forrest to
go into the shrimping business with him
when the war is over. Later while on
patrol, Forrest's platoon is attacked.
Though Forrest rescues many of the
men, Bubba is killed in action. Forrest is
awarded the Congressional Medal of
Honor for his heroism.
While Forrest is in recovery for a bullet
shot to his "butt-tox", he discovers his
uncanny ability for ping-pong,
eventually gaining popularity and rising
to celebrity status, later playing ping-
pong competitively against Chinese
teams. At an anti-war rally in
Washington, D.C. Forrest reunites with
Jenny, who has been living a hippie
counterculture lifestyle.
Returning home, Forrest endorses a
company that makes ping-pong paddles,
earning himself $25,000, which he uses
to buy a shrimping boat, fulfilling his
promise to Bubba. His commanding
officer from Vietnam, Lieutenant Dan,
joins him. Though initially Forrest has
little success, after finding his boat the
only surviving boat in the area after
Hurricane Carmen, he begins to pull in
huge amounts of shrimp and uses it to
buy an entire fleet of shrimp boats. Lt.
Dan invests the money in Apple
Computer and Forrest is financially
secure for the rest of his life. He returns
home to see his mother's last days.
One day, Jenny returns to visit Forrest
and he proposes marriage to her. She
declines, though feels obliged to prove
her love to him by sleeping with him.
She leaves early the next morning. On a
whim, Forrest elects to go for a run.
Seemingly capriciously, he decides to
keep running across the country several
times, over some three and a half years,
becoming famous.
In present-day, Forrest reveals that he
is waiting at the bus stop because he
received a letter from Jenny who,
having seen him run on television, asks
him to visit her. Once he is reunited
with Jenny, Forrest discovers she has a
young son, of whom Forrest is the
father. Jenny tells Forrest she is
suffering from a virus (probably HIV,
though this is never definitively stated).
Together the three move back to
Greenbow, Alabama. Jenny and Forrest
finally marry. The wedding is attended
by Lt. Dan, who now has prosthetic legs
and a fiancee. Jenny dies soon
afterward.
The film ends with father and son
waiting for the school bus on little
Forrest's first day of school. Opening the
book his son is taking to school, the
white feather from the beginning of the
movie is seen to fall from within the
pages. As the bus pulls away, the white
feather is caught on a breeze and drifts
skyward.
Character
Forrest Gump– He is the main
character in this movie. Played by Tom
Hanks, he is a simple minded man born
in Green bow, Alabama. After getting
into the Alabama public school despite
his low IQ level, Forrest Gump goes on
to live a life full of adventures.
Mrs. Gump– She is Forrest’s mother
and is solely responsible for Forrest’s
upbringing. Played by Sally Field, it is his
mother who influences and shapes the
way Forrest thinks about life. He never
let’s anyone tell him he is different just
because he is simple-minded.
Jenny Curran – She is the little girl who
Forrest meets on the first day of his
school. She is played by Robin Wright.
She later joins the Counter Culture
movement. She is Forrest’s love interest
through the entire film.
Pvt. Benjamin Buford Blue
“Bubba”– Forrest’s “Best Good
Friend.” Played by Mykelti
Williamson, the two meet during
basic training and are both sent
off to serve in Vietnam. It is with
Bubba where Forrest makes a
promise to start a shrimping
business. Forrest upholds that
promise after the War.
Lt. Dan Taylor– Forrest’s Lieutenant
while in Vietnam. He is played by Gary
Sinise, and is rescued by Forrest during
a raid. Deeply bitter and most likely
suffering from some sort of PTSD he
becomes an alcoholic after the war.
Most striking character
Mrs. Gump-Because I remember my
mom in her situation I also have a
broken family like Forrest Gump. I
remember when my mother says that
my father left me when I was in the
womb of my mother.
Most striking event
Vietnam War- I want this event
because Forrest Gump saves his
companions to survive in the war. Even
though Lieutenant Dan wants to
dismissed Forrest in saving him.

Lesson
 Don’t be afraid to love…

Just like he isn’t afraid to express his

care for others, he isn’t afraid to love
deeply, from the bottom of his soul.
He’s not afraid of getting hurt, and he
doesn’t overthink – he just loves. A lot
of people could learn from this
simplicity.

loved it. On the second time around, I
saw how terrible it actually is. I haven't
known why almost people hated it .And Reading and
now, after I saw it again, I agree with
