REFLECT AND GROW

Weekly Report 20- 1/20 to 1/26

In addition to building a strong professional network and presenting quality

and credible research, the Independent Study and Mentorship program
exemplifies the importance of original idea generation through the creation of the
Final Product at the end of the second semester. Within the field of environmental
engineering, it is crucial to gather information and create a project with a real-
world application. This week’s assessment helped to interpret the hazardous
environmental conditions present in today’s world. As a result, my Final Product
will build off of the idea of pollution remediation, either air-borne or solid. My goal
for the next couple of weeks is to research in depth the strategies and technologies
present with the process of pollution clean up and prevention.

Similarly, this week I began reflecting on past presentation skills and research
material to begin crafting my Original Work presentation. While looking back, I
noticed poor speaking volume and articulation. The week leading up to the
Original Work presentation, I plan to create the layout, digital display of the
presentation, and improve volume and articulation skills. Likewise, this week I will
attend a mentor visit. This visit will help brainstorm ideas for Final Product and
gather more information over environmental engineering.
