ASSIGNMENT SME BANK

1. What is the purpose of SME Bank?


▪ SME Bank is fully committed in driving the nation's economic growth by
providing not only financing assistance, but also development expertise to
small and medium scale enterprises, allowing those businesses to prosper
and grow.

2. What is the example of the loan scheme provided by SME Bank?


i. Contract Financing
▪ Contract Financing programme is a financing package based on
product bundling concept of financing facilities which are already
available in the Bank.
▪ This financing programme is for customers who are Main
Contractors or Nominated Sub-Contractors having secured
contract(s) from approved awarding parties mainly government
ministries, departments and agencies.

ii. MySMEBina
▪ MySMEBina is a financing programme for construction and
infrastructure projects awarded by Federal Government, State
Government, Government Link Companies (GLCs) and its
subsidiaries.

iii. MySMEBekal
▪ MySMEBekal is a complete short-term financing programme to
supply or maintain the contract awarded by Federal Government,
State Government, Government Agencies, Government Link
Companies (GLC) and its subsidiaries.

iv. Special Fund for Tourism 3 (SFT3)


▪ Special Fund for Tourism 3 (SFT3) is a financing programme to
support Government’s effort to boost the tourism industry among
the small and medium enterprises and to contribute towards the
income for the nation.
v. MySMELady
▪ Financing to women entrepreneurs focusing on migrating micro
entrepreneurs for business expansion and growth which includes
asset acquisition and working capital with a sub-limit for debit card
with partnering bank, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad.

vi. Small Business Financing (SBF)


▪ Increase your product marketability and transform your business
from Micro to Small category.

vii. Subordinated Financing Programme (SFP)


▪ Subordinated Financing Programme (SFP) is a collaboration
financing programme with TERAJU to provide financing to
Bumiputera companies in the shortfall of project or
plant/machinery cost. SFP is a two-tier financing programme in the
form of Principal Financing and Subordinated Financing.

viii. Business Accelerator Program (BAP)


▪ BAP is a collaborative effort program with SME Corp. Malaysia with
the objective of providing financial assistance to SMEs. It is to assist
SMEs in strengthening their core business, building capacity and
capability, and facilitating access to financing.

ix. Skim Pembiayaan Ekonomi Desa (SPED)


▪ Rural Economic Development Scheme (SPED) is a collaboration
financing programme with Ministry of Rural Development aimed to
provide Bumiputera SME entrepreneurs in rural areas the
opportunity to sustain, expand and develop the business to the next
level of success.

3. What are the benefits SME Bank give to local entrepreneurs?


▪ The bank has also created 21 initiatives, including key measures in digital
technology transformation, SME development strategy based on the ever-
changing and challenging economic environment, characterized by
globalization, liberalisation and advancement in information and
communication technology in accordance with the Government's desire for
the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). SME Bank is the only Malaysian
development financing institution that establishes the Centre for
Entrepreneur and Research Development (CEDAR), where it provides
various mediation services including research-based training, business
guidance, facilitator-based approach and entrepreneur guidance.
