The Jungle Adventure

Explorers Mindy Oklahoma and her helper Palenque Caso enter the jungle in the
Amazon rainforest:

Mindy: Are you sure that this place is safe?

Palenque: Yes, of course, I’m sure! I basically grew up in the jungle!
Mindy: Okay, then let’s go!
(Mindy and Palenque go down the green hill in the jungle and across the stream, until
they reach the big river.)
Palenque: How are we going to cross that river?
Mindy: (takes out her machete and strikes down the dead tree so that it lands right
across the river and walks across it.) It’s as easy as that! Follow me, Palenque!
Palenque: Okie Dokie!
(they cross the river and find the ancient temple.)
Mindy: Wow! This place looks awesome for some exploring!
Palenque: (sees angry eyes that blink in the cave nearby) (scared voice) M-M-Mindy,
I-I-I think t-t-that t-t-there is a m-m-MONSTER in the c-c-cave. M-M-Maybe we
s-s-should g-g-go B-B-BACK?
Mindy: Oh don’t be such a scaredy-cat! I’m going into the temple. Are you coming?
Palenque:(scared voice) O-O-Okayiiiee.

(scene goes dark, then the scene lights up, and Mindy and Palenque are in the temple)

Mindy: Okay, I think that we have to check for traps first, since the ancient Incas, or
whoever they were, always put them in the temples. ( Mindy notices the first trap, and
jumps over it) Phew! I almost fell down there! ( But palenque doesn’t notice the trap,
and he falls down into a pit)
Palenque: AAUGH! Mindy! Help me! I’m stuck!
Mindy: Palenque, if you'd paid ATTENTION to me when we just came into the temple,
you wouldn’t have fallen down in there! Okay, give me your hand and I’ll pull you up.
(Mindy reaches down into the pit and pulls up Palenque)
Palenque: Okay Mindy, I will.
Mindy: Wow! These ancient Incas didn’t know that I would notice the 2nd and 3rd traps
already! Palenque, don’t fall for the traps!
Palenque: Of course I will not! I also noticed them!
Mindy: Okay.

(Palenque and Mindy jump over 2 other traps and come face to face with the ancient
king of the Incas)

King of Incas: WHO DARES AWAKE MY SLUMBER?! I WILL FEED YOU TO MY

RUTHLESS SNAKES! MWAHAHAHAHA!
Mindy: Oh no you won’t you evil king! We are way smarter than you are! Right,
Palenque?
Palenque: (gets scared of the appearance of the king, and talks in a scared voice)
Y-Y-Yes?
King of Incas: HOW DARE YOU CHALLENGE ME! I AM THE EMPEROR OF THE
FAMOUS, STRONG, INCAN EMPIRE! YOU WILL NEVER BEAT ME!
Mindy: Umm, excuse me, your majesty, but do you know that your Incas have
disappeared a long time ago?
King of Incas: REALLY?! MY STRONG EMPIRE DISAPPEARED?! YOU WILL PAY
FOR THIS! YOU MAD HATTER! (king takes his club and swings it at Mindy and
Palenque)
Palenque: We have made a horrible decision, Mindy! Now we have to battle this evil
king!
Mindy: (dodges the club and ducks) But it was all your idea, you nincompoop! Now, let
me get the king! (she runs behind the king and pushes him right into the pit)
King of Incas: WHAT KIND OF TREACHERY IS THIS?! PULL ME OUT OF HERE, OR I
WILL SACRIFICE YOU TO THE SUN GOD!
Mindy: Yeah, sure. Come on, Palenque, let’s get out of here, we have nothing else to do
here.
King of Incas: I WILL GET YOU! I WILL DESTROY EVERY LAST PIECE OF YOU! I-

(the door into the ancient temple closes, and Mindy and Palenque don’t hear him
anymore)

Mindy: Phew! Lucky us! We almost died to that ancient king! And, Palenque, I have
some news for you.
Palenque: Well?
Mindy: I am never trusting you any more to go on an adventure with me. From now on, I
will decide what place to explore. (they cross the river and the stream until they get to
the green hill)
Mindy: Wait a second. I think that I noticed something.
Palenque: Do you mean the wheel thingie?
Mindy: Yes, but I think that it is hiding something, like an entrance to a secret cave.
Palenque: Let’s find out!
(Mindy and Palenque push the wheel out of the way, and go into the cave.)
Mindy and Palenque: WOOOOOOW! That looks AWESOME! (in the cave they notice
diamonds and other valuable things)
Mindy: Now I will finally be able to buy a mansion with a pool!
Palenque: And I will be able to buy everything!
Mindy: Palenque, you really found an interesting spot to explore! I am sorry for getting
mad at you. I take my words back. Now you are commander-in-chief!
Palenque: Yaay!
(a plane flies down, takes Mindy and Palenque, along with their diamonds, and they fly
off into the sunset)
