KEY COMPETENCES + CLIL METHODOLOGY

+ The dual-focussed approach of CLIL requires that the Key Competences are applied
to both the content and language elements of programming sessions using this
method.

+ Some of these Key Competences such as Learning to Learn or the Social and Civic
Competence are always will play a fundamental part of our lesson plans but we
should never forget that depending that as teachers we will find ourselves using
ALL the Key Competences in some form or other at some point in any CLIL unit.

+ CLIL and the competences have been elaborated in order to cater for the challenges
of learning within the 21st Century and as teachers we would be well-advised to
never lose sight of these competences when planning our classes.
