Using QFD
Quality Function Deployment

 QFD is a rigorous method for

translating customer needs, wants,
and wishes into step-by-step
procedures for delivering the product
or service. While delivering better
designs tailored to customer needs,
Quality Function Deployment also
cuts the normal development cycle
by 50%, making you faster to market.

 Goals
 To understand customer needs

 Obtain cross functional agreement buy-in on the

customer’s needs
 (Marketing, Hardware/ software engineering, quality
etc)

 Translate customer needs into development goals and

technical capabilities
 (performance metrics, concepts, design characteristics,
process parameters, production control, etc)

 Provide documented requirements traceability

 (How/ why logic e.g VOC Document )

 Provide Logic and structure

 Prioritize resources

5
What We did….

 Things Done
 Determine / Document Customer Requirements (Voice of
Customer)
 Designed Survey to ascertain Customer needs using survey
Monkey

 Prioritize Requirements
