Expanding Dunkin Donuts to Japan
Good morning! I am Jasmyne Scott, the head of the Global Business Expansion Markey for Dunkin
Donuts. I would like to talk about our interest into expanding into Japan to tap into new sales and
delivery channels. We know that Japan has amazing networking and we would like to take advantage
of that. Not only do we want to dell donuts, coffee, and cups- we would like to expand into clothing
and accessories. We would expand with franchising because it promotes multiple unit expansions for
Dunkin, promotes the economy, and creates a new revenue stream! We chose to expand to Japan
because Japan is known to be loyal and innovative. Another reason why Japan was our main country
to expand was because of their values. We like that they value modesty and humility. Buying Dunkins
accessories and clothing could increase Japan's Gross National Income and increase their gross
domestic product. A requirement in some sectors or projects for companies to demonstrate prior
experience in Japan, effectively shutting out new entrants in the market. The cultural importance of
personal relationships in Japan and the reluctance to break or modify business relationships. This
expansion would benefit us mutually and will help Japan economically.
